Donghyun grew up in an average household: dad, mom, younger sister whose pigtails he pulled about as often as he dried her tears. He was a little bit on the scrawny side growing up, and in grade school he was no stranger to bullies-- though he fought back, and fought dirty. It wasn't until he was pushed down the stairs at the tender age of eleven for being "too girly," an incident which cost him ten teeth, a split lip and an overnight hospital stay, that his mother took notice. His father, on the other hand, brusquely told him to man up. He took his father's advice a little too close to heart, and the boyhood fistfights turned into even worse delinquent behavior. He started skipping school to hang out at the local arcade, and he ran with a small group of petty thugs by the time he was thirteen. At fifteen he realized his childhood talent for the piano gave him dexterous hands, and with a mind for angles he discovered he had a knack for billiards. At sixteen he had a fake ID and was sneaking his way into pool halls, hustling much beefier men out of their hard earned money on Saturday nights, and attending church in a suit his mother pressed on Sunday mornings. Everything was going well... for a few months. One of the men he had fleeced caught on to the scam and decided he needed to pay for it. Donghyun hasn't told a soul about what happened then, and he doesn't intend to. All his family knows is that he spent a week under hospital observation, earned himself a metal rod in his back that's made him very inflexible, and there's often a hint of something exaggerated (or even false) in his eyes when he smiles. He left home not long after that, picking up any job he could, sometimes working three jobs at a time and sixteen hour days. When his mother asked him why he worked so hard sometime later, the only thing he told her was that he needed to keep his hands busy and his mind empty.

Hello there! Donghyun's muse here. my name is nicole, or nikki, depending on what you might prefer to call me, but I'll also go by any version of "donghyun" you can think to use. Donghyun is my ultimate bias, my precious bae, an awkward ball of goofy sunshine underneath a very thin icy layer that somehow earns him the title of "tsundere." so basically don't give my baby drama because it physically hurts me. I'm way too old to be here, so if the thought of your muse associating with donghyun is too weird for you then it's probably gonna be weird to talk to me too. I am online way too much for my own good, but I do occasionally feel overwhelmed in room situations so if you're waiting to talk to me, or get replies from me, feel free to message me privately and I'll be glad to let you know about when I'll be able to respond. I am working, as a community college writing center tutor so sometimes my creativity is in the toilet. I'm also a student at that same college (though I'm on Winter Break until mid-February).
