Passing through the third level of patients you happen to hear screaming coming from one of the rooms. It's taemin, writhing on the floor. You don't know what's wrong but what you do know is that he needs help.

One of the few nice nurses the asylum has to offer Taemin is able to call you friend. You care for him in a way most people don't, not even mistress (though he won't admit this). The friendship you two have is actually pretty sweet for this place.

One day you can't take it anymore and explode, telling him none of it's real - only to suddenly find yourself on the ground with an extrmely livid Taemin on Top.

Taemin likes being cold - the same with his liking to be in darkness. iT helps him feel closer to mistress. You, on the other hand, prefer warmth. The two of you clash when in the same room, constantly telling the nurses to change the temperature back and forth from hot and cold.

There are days when Taemin feels like he should be punished because he's not good enough for Mistress and this is why he goes to you. He views you as a member of her court and, as she's not there to punish Taemin herself, he allows you to do so. You don't question it simply because you take sadistic pleasure from his pain.

A countenance of pale marble - stoic and alluring - birthed from the wretched woes of a penniless . Taemin's mother was nothing more than a mindless concubine, a dishonorable member of the feminine race. As her belly swelled with an unborn child she refused to leave the churlish father who continued to his way through life.
On the night when he was about to be born Taemin's carrier died on the way to the hospital of unexplained circumstances. As quick as they could the doctors and nurses rescued the baby from his mother's bloody womb. He wasn't breathing. By another miracle one doctor in particular was able to resurrect Taemin - for the first time since he left the body he opened his eyes, wide and dark. It was for only a second, something that never should have happened in the first place, but Taemin saw something. Blonde hair, muted skin, black eyes - he saw beauty.
There's no way to explain how an infant memory has stayed with Taemin up until now, but it was the singular event that guided him into his current being.
Adopted by a foster family just days after he was announced without parents Taemin found himself living in the countryside. A large Victorian house, complete with stygian shades and shadows. It was absolutely crawling with untold narratives. Taemin's story wouldn't be the last. His, however, is a simple one. The boy who couldn't sit still.
By the age of seven Taemin had quite a bit of trouble staying in one place. Hapless was his situation, as even the Sandman himself wouldn't be able to put the boy to sleep. Taemin would amble around the dark halls of his residence, always coming to a stop at the same place every night. The window. It was large, brimming with moonlight and casting a glow across the velveteen carpet. He would stare up at the moon, and see her. His savior - the woman he saw when finally truly alive.
His juvenile mind conjured up a simple persona for this nameless woman. She was his ruler - pristine, immaculate, beautiful, flawless and more. Over the course of several more years Taemin's delusions grew into an entire world. He began calling the figure Mistress. In his mind she was the only person in the entire universe that cared about him. His foster parents were far off, out of his mind. Taemin focused solely on serving his Mistress and her wishes, the wishes being hallucinations that began at age 12. She would whisper to him, and Taemin would listen in rapture.
Which is why it should come as no surprise that Taemin followed through with her orders to jump from a bridge in the middle of winter. Icy depths surged beneath his feet, swirling in a mixture of cold and death. Taemin was pulled away from the edge moments before jumping by a stranger - someone who happened to be an employee of the asylum. Taking note of Taemin's deteriorated mental health they had the boy take them to his house. When his parents saw him they immediately asked the doctor to take him away. Take him away.

At first glance Taemin seems as harmless as a dead fly. He doesn't clash violently with other patients (usually) nor does he have a habit of making threatening remarks. The young man simply keeps to himself. At least, that's how it's displayed. In actuality he is almost always conversing with Mistress, the woman of his deranged mind. The persona he's crafted (unknowingly) is that of a ruler - a queen. She alone rules the land of ice and snow forever shrouded in darkness. Taemin is her right-hand man. He attends to her every whim - correction, did. Taemin's world came crashing down when his parents let him be taken away to the asylum. In his head Mistress lives in the house, not here. They are separated, and the man is so desperate to return. He obsessively listens to her voice (a hallucination caused by one of his two disorders) while plotting ways to get out. When he ends up being pushed too off-kilter by either doctors or other patients Taemin will eventually give in to the desire of consuming his own arms. Bite marks, scrapes, even small holes litter his arms from countless attacks by his own filthy mouth. He almost pukes looking at them, because Mistress loves beautiful things, and he is no longer beautiful. The only thing that will manage to ever set Taemin off is if someone disregards or speaks wrongly of Mistress. He will defend her even in words.

compulsive autocannibalism: an irresistable urge to eat one's own flesh. when stressed or agitated taemin will begin to bite and tear at his arms with his teeth. he'll only calm down when restrained and then have his arms bandged (in white) to cover up the mess of scars and new wounds.
schizoaffective disorder: a mental health condition including schizophrenia and mood disorder symptons. taemin's hallucinations (auditory, visual and [rarely] felt) are all of his Mistress. she whispers to him, and he'll sometimes see her figure in the corner of his eye, or feel her hands move across his upper arms (if he "feels" her hand move any lower [to his scars] he freaks).
taemin's world: the country born from the inner workings of taemin's head. it is cold all the time and never sees the sun. he lives in the capital with his Mistress, a large black building with guards always patrolling. he is a soldier, yet remains by her side, draping his head across her lap while she sits in the throne. basically, his imaginary landscape is the one in this music video (because his character is shamelessly based off of lady gaga's alejandro).
• as Mistress is blonde Taemin needs to have his hair blonde as well. when he even begins to see his roots he'll start snapping until one of the doctors or nurses carefully bleaches it again.
• unlike his place in Mistress' kingdom the young man actually has no knowledge of weapons or fighting - he is defenseless
• he is obsessed with being Mistress' way of beauty. sharp jaw, pale skin, cold features - he pays very careful attention to his facial apperance and avoids even glancing at his forearms at all costs
• taemin prefers darkness (closed curtains, lamps off, etc.) to the light any day. it helps him feel closer to Mistress.
