Ranks:

Academy Students [ 12-15 ]: Academy students are still in the process of becoming full-fledged shinobi. They are enrolled in the academy to study basic jutsus and must pass a test in order to become Genin.

Genin (C-Rank) [ 15+ ]: Genin are the lowest ranking of full-fledged shinobi. They are put in a group of three and are led by a Jounin until they all become Chunin. They are in charge of the D-Rank and C-Rank missions. However, they may occasionally go on B/A-rank missions under the guidance and instruction of their Jounin leader. In order to become Chunin, they must be at least 17 years and must pass the Chunin Exams.

Chunin (B-Rank) [ 17+ ]: Chunins are in charge of C-Rank and B-Rank missions. If their teammates from their Genin days have yet to promote, they are sometimes allowed on their own separate missions. They may have occupations when their team disbands, for example, an Academy teacher or a guard. In order to become a Jounin, they must be at least 24 years old and must pass the Jounin Exam.

Jounin (A-Rank) [ 24+ ]: Jounins are in charge of A-Rank missions, though the more skilled Jounin also receive S-Rank missions. They usually go on group missions due to the difficulty, but may also be in charge of a group of Genin until they all the Genin become Chunin.

ANBU Black Ops (A-Rank/S-Rank) [26+] : ANBUs are handpicked by their Kage. They are given missions of torture and assassination. They must wear a mask even in their own village. Only the village elders and Kage know of their identities. In some countries, they may be known as Hunter-nin.

Sannin [ 29+ ]: Sannin are hailed as the three greatest Shinobi of their time, regardless of the village of origin.

Statistics:

Shinobi statistics are a general system of point distribution between 8 categories by which to gauge the strength of your character, including the categories: ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, bukijutsu, intelligence, strength, speed, stamina, hand signs and experience with a possible maximum of 5 points to each category and a maximum of 50 possible points. You are required to include these statistics on your profile to inform other roleplayers of your character’s specialities and overall skill level, though the statistics fail to account for unique abilities. Rather, it serves as a medium by which to compare characters and determine the difference in skill and experience between two characters for the purposes of confrontation – whether ally or enemy.

However, there are limitations to the amount of stat points that each rank is allowed to ensure an accurate representation of a shinobi’s skill and experience, and maintain the progression and gradual growth throughout the ranks. Shinobi that are Chuunin rank or below aren’t allowed to master any specific field, with Chuunin ninjas maximizing at 4.5 stat points per any given category and Genin at 3.5 stat points per any given category. This doesn’t necessitate the Jonin mastering any particular category, though they are limited to mastering 2 rather than several.

You are not required to include statistics when applying, but you must include a statistics portion on your profile. The admins will constantly be checking the profiles of newer members to ensure completion and fairness, as your statistics should accurately reflect your character’s skill, factoring in their individual experience, age and upbringing. We have the right to request that you change your statistics if they’re unfair, inaccurate or incomplete, but we won’t oversee the changes unless they fail to improve upon the previous errors.

Ninjutsu: Your shinobi's proficiency at ninjutsu, techniques that cannot otherwise be performed by Shinobi, weapons included. Ninjutsus are the techniques available with releases. Fire Release, Water Release, as well as Kekkai Genkai Elements like Wood Release and Crystal Release. In order to become proficient at ninjutsu, a shinobi must first become proficient with hand seals.

Taijutsu: Your shinobi's proficiency in hand-to-hand combat. This does not include the usage of any type of weapon.

Genjutsu: Your shinobi's proficiency in genjutsu. Similar to ninjutsu, however the genjutu's effects, despite seeming real, are not real and do not affect the victim's body beyond possible fatigue. The user casts an illusion on the victim, in which a series of events may occur. It may mentally corrode the opponent depending on the strength of the genjutsu cast.

Bukijutsu: A shinobi's proficiency in using a weapon or weapons. In order to rank high on this, your shinobi needs to at least use one type of weapon proficiently. Therefore, it is possible to have a 4 or 5 in this category despite mastering the usage of one weapon. To see the list of weapons, click here. If you'd like to add a weapon, consult an admin. The only other weapon included in this category that is not listed previously is the weapons the Kasui Division uses.

Intelligence: How well a shinobi strategizes and how well he/she can detect patterns and predict the outcome of others’ strategies. This includes methods of disrupting others’ strategies, creating strategies to combat certain situations and analyzing and selecting a strategy for a given situation. This also includes how rationally a shinobi approaches a difficult problem and how logically a shinobi reacts when caught in a dire situation.

Speed: How fast a shinobi can maneuver around the field. This includes the speed at which they are capable of moving and their speed in attacking/defending. A higher speed usually correlates with quicker reflexes. Strength: How physically capable a shinobi is.

Stamina: A shinobi’s endurance – how long he/she can fight or how long it takes for him/her to become tired and no longer capable of fighting. This partially depends upon a shinobi’s chakra reserve, but can also depend upon their proficiency in chakra control and regulation, therefore their proficiency in conserving their chakra and energy.

Hand Seals: How proficiently a shinobi channels and manipulates their chakra to perform jutsu, including ninjutsu, genjutsu and taijutsu. Proficiency in hand seals requires memorization of the different sequences, as well as control of the amount of chakra being manipulated.

Experience: A gauge of what a shinobi has gone through and experienced throughout their life as a shinobi. Usually depends on rank and age, but can vary per circumstance.
