Quinques and Q-bullets

While ghouls have their kagunes, investigators from the CCG headquarters have quinques. A quinque is a weapon used against ghouls, and made from a ghoul's kagune. Usually, after an investigator kills a ghoul, they will use their kakuhou, an organ that controls a ghoul's kagune, in their quinques, making it similar in strength and appearance to what was once a ghoul's kagune. Each quinque can be made into various shapes like guns, blades or shields, but will still retain similar characteristics to the original kagune. Only rank 2 or higher CCG investigators are given a quinque, which they will carry around in bags or suitcases.

CCG investigators from branch offices are armed with firearms called Q bullets. Q bullets are used specifically against ghouls, because they are much more effective against ghouls than normal bullets. Unlike quinques, only a proportion of Q bullets are made with kagune materials.
