More about...

The Society

Not everyone is equal in Victorian London. At the top is, of course, Queen Victoria, who cannot be role-played here. Below all social classes are listed from top to bottom. Please pick one number for your character.

1 The Peerage: The Lords and Ladies, including Dukes, Earls, Marquesses, Viscounts and Barons.

2 The Gentry: Referred to as Sir and Dame/Madame, including Baronets, Knights and Gentlemen.

3 Wealthy families possibly related to nobility, but of no such rank themselves. They work for a living and earn a lot.

4 The middle class is where educations starts to lack. They live well enough, but are dependant on their income.

5 The working class lives poorly and must earn their living by performing typically unskilled jobs whenever possible.

6 The lowest rank are beggars, the homeless and prostitues, also referred to as 'daughters of joy'.
