The damned are not from this realm. They are humans that have been cast out from their own realm. What does this mean and how does that happen? A human can be cast out if he offends a god of the humans by committing blasphemous acts or by committing another terrible crime. As punishment, the damned are given two curses. The first is universal: a damned can not die. The second can vary. Some lose one of their senses (touch, smell, sight, taste or sound). Some lose a limb. Some suffer their worst nightmare every time they fall asleep. (You can make up something anything you like.)

Not all the damned have actually done something wrong to come here. Some were an 'accident' by a god, some slipped through a dimension rift and ended up here. Sadly, these 'fake' damned have the two curses as well.

Relations with the other races
(This is just a general guideline, your character's personal opinion on the other races can be different!)

The damned tend to keep to themselves, even building a make-shift village just for themselves. Perhaps out of nostalgia, perhaps because gathering in numbers is safest. They view the elves as religious fanatics and the anima as just plain... weird. Some of the damned treat the anima like they did animals back in their realm, others consider anima a 'monster', not a fellow sentient race.

Livelihoods

Coming to the realm with nothing, the damned are very dependant on the anima and the elves to survive. They buy their food from them, commission them to build them huts and some even pay a 'safety tax' to elven warriors to keep the monsters away. (Yes, this realm has nasty monsters.) On top of basic needs, the damned also have materialistic desires. They want to own nice things, eat nice things and live in a nice place. In order to purchase those things from the elves, they need to earn money. The livelihood of a damned usually depends on their power, or sometimes on a skill they had developed in their home realm.

Powers

Call it a condolensce gift for being kicked into a different realm, but all the damned receive powers upon arriving here. Humans can have mind and spatial magic (as long it's not inter-dimensional travel) unlike the elves. The range of their powers is quite broad, but there are exceptions. The damned are incompatible with spirit magic, clairvoyant powers such as pre- and retro-cognition, mimicry, personal enhancement powers and emotion magic. They also cannot use fire, air, water and earth magic. However, they can use light, darkness and shadow magic. If you have questions on what powers you can pick, please consult an admin!

Religion

The damned have no religion, or at least not one from this realm. Although the rare odd one on out might choose to worship the spirit tree along with the elves. This is pretty weird though.
