Rain has begun to pour down on the sad and miserable city known as Belgate. Despite it all, it honestly doesn’t even begin to wash away the pounding headache the citizens of the city have been getting ever since the unforgettable day of October 29, 2018. There has been a startling increase of reports in regards to having strangers breaking into homes, yet the moment the police show up— they are simply told it’s nothing but a false alarm. Strange, isn’t it? Well, that’s Belgate city for you. And it seems things are only going to get stranger as a thunderstorm was just announced this morning.
As you’re walking along the streets of Belgate, the sudden thunder resounding overhead only causes you to hasten your gait with much fear and urgency. It hasn’t started to rain yet but the sound you heard just now was alarming enough to tell you that it was time to head on home, hoping that you will get there before the thunderstorm decides to hit. However, the moment you pass by another lamppost for the umpteenth time— the situation you were so worried about ends up being the one you find yourself within in a matter of seconds. The harsh rain doesn't even give you a moment to think as it starts coming down on you from the heavens above, the mix of strong winds and thunder only throwing you off more as you struggle to keep going towards your route home. Your clothes, hair, and entirety was completely drenched now and you can barely see the streets due to the extreme downpour that surrounded you. This . It really ing . But, hey— other things could honestly be much more worse than this, right?
Well yes, that is indeed true, but the moment you admit to such a thing is the moment you get what you seemed to be asking for.
Like on cue, the very ground beneath your feet starts to violently shake and it immediately knocks you off balance without a moment's hesitation. Your entire body proceeds to fall onto the surface of the sidewalk you stood on as the sudden earthquake and terrible thunderstorm continue to rage on, almost making it look like the world was determined to around with you today. It was either that or heaven and hell decided that it was time to finally battle it out and unleash everything they've got at each other with poor humanity being in the middle of it all. The latter was definitely not the case though due to the fact that the little squabble between heaven and hell was being settled through the whole system involving getting paired with a human and whatnot. So what in the world is going on? Two natural disasters happening at the same time felt... entirely unnatural! Why is this all suddenly happening?!
Before you could initiate another series of unanswerable questions, the loudest sound of thunder roars, the earthquake only increases in magnitude, and the rain falls more aggressively than before. Everything was just getting worse by the second and all you could find yourself doing was curling up into a ball of your own protection, fearing that actually doing anything else would just cause things to get even worse.
Even as you don't do anything though, the state of your surroundings somehow still end up getting worse as lightning that is accompanied with terrifying thunder decides to fill the dark skies above the dreadful city. The lightning honestly feels like an addition to whatever was currently going on at this point— but then everything seems to just suddenly stop all together after that. With the grim skies now clearing, the sun shining brightly down on the city, and the ground unmoving, everything was seemingly back the way it was.
Getting up from where you laid during the whole chaotic fiasco, you decide to again begin making your way home once you confirmed that it was all really over. However, as soon as you pass by an apartment building, a puff of black smoke suddenly appears before you and you end up falling back on your rear end in complete and utter shock as the perso— wait. Does this person actually have demon horns attached to his head and a sleek tail swaying behind him? Those things couldn't actually be real though, right? Although, they looked way too real to be simply prosthetics either. Before you could even begin to verbally question it, a large winged shadow swoops past the two of you and your gaze immediately shifts upward in search of whatever, or whoever, the hell was that. Your eyes easily catch what appears to be... an angel soaring across sky. She had a halo, feathered wings, and everything! And not to mention the fact that she was also literally flying using her wings— oh no. It's real. This is all real and it only makes all the rumors true: demons and angels are scattered all over Belgate city... and it seems that their human disguises have finally worn off.
