Okay people, here's the scoop.
If a master is interested in a slave to be their pet, then the slave technically gets a say in it, though it's up to you guys whether or not your character is the type to permit slaves to make choices.
If so, then the slave is promoted to servant until they make their decision.
If the slave accepts immediately, then they are promoted directly to pet status.
However, if your character isn't the type to give slaves a choice, and just snatches up slaves as their own, then slaves are promoted directly to pet status.
Does that make sense?
Either way, let an admin know any time anyone's rank changes so they can make it official.
