Kao grew up in a nice small family with an older brother and her parents. Unknown to her, she had inherited a trait from her father, intense bloodlust and desire to kill. At the age of 8, Kao's father left the family to join the Scouting Legion. Two years later, he died and less than a month after his death, Kao's mother killed herself in depression, leaving her 10 year old daughter and 12 year old son behind. The brother and sister disappeared into the underground, struggling to survive as hitmen in the dirty underground society. They surivived in the underground city for 3 and a half years before they discovered 3DMG. During their stay underground, Kao and her brother read her father's journal and discovered they both will have trouble with their bloodlust. When Kao's brother turned 16, he enlisted to the Scouting Legion like her father, so satisfy his bloodlust. The following year, Kao also enlisted, joining the Trainee Squad, only to discover that her brother had died in his second expedition. However, the girl continued to train to enter the Scouting Legion.
When she finished her training, she entered the Scouting Legion and kept herself under the radar, trying her best not to draw attention to herself, but on her first expedition, she lost control and left formation, making killing two incoming titans. In her first fight, she had not left untouched as one of her ankles had twisted as she landed sloppily from her lack of control. When the commander was told of her situation, it was clear that Kao was capable of taking down titans with ease, but had trouble in controlling herself.
After many expeditions, Kao learned to control herself and established her place as her squad leader's second in command. When her leader died, the commander allowed Kao to take his place to lead the squad.
Yeah... this is still not complete, pardon any mistakes and the lack of clarity in this >.<;
Basically, Kao is struggling with her bloodlust and killing titans is the best way to keep herself sane and protect the people around her. When her bloodlust is not satisfied, she will being to lose control of her mind and actions, and will lash out dangerously to the people around her. She discovered that it was an inherited trait from her father from his notebook he had left behind for Kao and her brother.
Personality: She's often much too playful for a squad leader, as she tends to make a joke out of everything. Though she is one of the younger members in the entire Legion, she is very serious when it comes to training. On missions, she is often much too giddy compare to everyone else who was either terrified of being out of the walls or worried about the mission. However, when discussion mission planning, her mind works as a squad leader's as she prepares for any possible error in the given plan. She excels at improvisation while on the field and never exactly follows the mission to the letter, while she does get the final mission accomplished eventually.

Kao can often be spotted in her Scouting Legion uniform which consists of a white shirt, long brown pants, black above the knee boots, and her 3DMG straps on. She stands at about 5'2 with long dark brown hair and light hazel eyes. She usually lets her hair down, but occasionally ties it up in a ponytail while she trains or on missions.
Though she is rather short, her body is build with lean, wiry muscle she had developed from training her body since her days underground when she struggled with bloodlust. Though she is heavily muscled, she also trains her flexibility to prevent injuries.

Somehow you ended up in my squad, but I admire your skills. Your ability to control yourself. During our time together, we've become good friends and you were my human restraint. Always knowing when I may lost control, your constant warnings had helped me through, keeping the squad alive. Because of this, I made you my second-in-command.

During my 4 year stay in the underground city, I had not been clean. I've killed people, young and old. Employed by people to kill people. You had seened me in action, Maybe I had killed a family member or a friend, or maybe it was only a stranger. But you know I'm not innocent. And to me, you were a loose end I had forgotten to tie up. So right now, the only option is for you to shut your mouth about it, or I'll kill you. (Additional info: The commander would already know about my 'job' in the past, so it was only my reputation on the line if you were to rat out of me.)

You've seen me in action, but like other people, you don't know me. Everytime you look at me, you see a cold-blooded murderer. One that should be locked up. You had seen the messes I had left behind. The destroyed bodies of my victims. However, with the Scouting Legion's commander requiring my life as a soldier, you can't exactly lock me up. But you will make me pay for the hell I made. Being older and more experienced, you often tease me for being young, but you also know that I was not a squad leader for no reason. You know about my difficulties with bloodlust, but as fellow leaders, we stick together, bearing each others burdens, knowing the feeling of leaving members of our squads behind on missions, being unable to save them from titans.
However, on normal days, we just have fun, training out squads till they don't want to stand. We may seem cruel, but we just don't want more people to leave.

I know there are other people with crazy bloodlust, so we have some random support group... which has meetings on how members deal with their intense passion... for blood. Believe me, we're all very normal people until we see blood and lose our minds. Totally normal.
