Time and time again, ben found himself searching for something that would give him closure to all of the problems he ever dealt with in life. they say that time does heal what is broken, but due to the lack of time he had with those he cherished dearly - this always left something vacant and bitter, deep - down inside of him. growing up with parents who weren't from the same race back then in Italy - often caused him and his mother to get dirty looks from those passing by. 

"why do they dislike us so much? why am i different from most boys at school?" 

These were constant questions ben had always found himself asking his mother. never could she give him the right answer or anything to help soothe the ache that was left behind. his father was too embarrassed and talked down upon by his own family from dating outside of his race. DESPITE the complications that came from being "different", not once did this ever cause ben to judge or look at anyone any differently than he was. race was never the issue to him. 

REGARDLESS OF THE STRUGGLES HE FACED BACK THEN - NOT ONCE DID IT EVER STOP HIM FROM FOLLOWING HIS DREAMS. HE WANTED TO GET HIS MOM OUT OF THE RAGGEDY HOUSE THEY WOULD HAVE TO GO HOME TO DAY IN AND DAY OUT. HE SAW HOW MUCH SHE WAS STRUGGLING, AND DID HIS HARDEST TO PUSH FORWARD IN SCHOOL, WORK, AND OUTSIDE OF THE SYSTEM AS WELL. HIS HARD WORK HAD EVENTUALLY PAID OFF, GIVING HIM A FULL RIDE TO ONE OF THE TOP COLLEGES IN THE AREA. 
 
 
 
 

personality
i feel like at times my personality can be quite hard to pin-point. but if i could accurately describe how i am, based off my observations and others - i would like to genuinely say that i am quite goofy. i enjoy laughing, i enjoy making others laugh and cracking jokes when it's reasonable or when the mood isn't too serious. i know when and where to do these things, so i am not heartless. i do enjoy conversing a lot. my mind-set is pretty determined most of the time if i have task at hand! when it comes to expressing myself to others though, emotionally if there's problems i do tend to be a bit more reserved in that department. i kind of have this strange trait where i would rather help someone else with their problems, and not confront my own? i tend to push those off and i know overtime it builds up, but i like to look at the positive side of things rather than dwell too much on what is bothering me.

 
PLOT
ideal type? let me think. i guess it would be someone who's true to themselves and able to BE themselves around me and others, and not change up simply because they're trying to impress either the person they're interested in, or others. someone who's caring, thoughtful, and able to engage in intellectual conversations or simple deep and long conversations from time to time. i don't mind having those moments where they're reserved, but i think if they can't converse enough and expect actions to speak for themselves; it'll be hard for me to relate since i do tend to talk a lot - when it comes to trying to get to know someone or in general. i hope that she also don't mind me being a little hands on? and by that, i mean giving hugs or even holding hands from time to time ( when we are more comfortable with one another, of course ) or kisses too. someone who can joke and take jokes as well.
