Suyeon had been working her way up in the political world; her mother before her being a foreign affairs minister, she had connections and education on what made a good politician from a young age. Most of the other employees in the ministry in their twenties were treated less than dogs-- coffee interns and note-takers. She would agree that she was exceptionally privileged. Still, she managed to befriend her colleagues; though she seemed the type to be cold and detached, like her mother, she had a warm heart. Perhaps, she often thinks, she should have adopted that guarded attitude. She feared standing up for those mistreated, as she didn't want to lose her own job, but she would be the first to try to take some of the weight off their shoulders. When her closest friend from the office was blamed for losing documents that she had never even touched and subsequently fired, a switch in Suyeon flipped. She realized, after all these years, this wasn't the environment she wanted to spend the rest of her life in. So, she quit. This decision didn't quite infuriate her mother, but deeply disappointed her. Not only that, but it was rather problematic for her as well; if the media caught wind of a minister's daughter following in her footsteps deciding politics wasn't for her due to what she felt was mistreatment, Hell would break loose on her mother's end. So, the two made a plan to send Suyeon to a resort, passing it off as a vacation and not revealing Suyeon's withdrawal from the ministry. When her stay was over, they'd say that she changed her mind about her career path to do something more relaxing. But how long would Suyeon decide to stay? She had nothing to return to at home, and some well-deserved time to herself for the first time in forever sounded like something she'd never get tired of. She might stay much longer than her mother had intended.
