SHADOW MANIPULATION

Hyoyeon was nine when the storm occurred. She had assumed the shadows in her room started moving because they existed on their own, and were suddenly interested in becoming friends. She was found by a guardian at the age of eleven outside her house, 'playing' with the shadows on the wall. It wasn't long before the guardian came by again and informed Hyoyeon's parents that she was invited to attend a boarding school for incredibly intelligent and gifted children. Her grades allowed the semi-lie to float, and before long, Hyoyeon found herself living in Hinansho.
She learned of the true nature of her powers when she was thirteen. The news didn't shock her as much, since she already had a good grip on her ability and was pretty comfortable with it. Hyoyeon remained in Hinansho, and began actively trying to strengthen and learn more about her ability. She now works in her family's restaurant on weekends, and visits her parents and older brother regularly.
shadow manipulation is the ability to merge with, control, and draw power from darkness. the ability allows the user to hide in and travel through shadows, as well as being able to create shadow-based beings (generally monsters) from the darkness, or morph themselves into living objects by harnessing the power of darkness. it also eliminates the need for sleep, and gives the user boundless energy during nighttime. a side-effect: user's eyes can sometimes turn violet when performing shadow manipulation.
