jihoon was born into a relatively poor family. growing up there wasn't many opportunities for jihoon, he had to work many part-time jobs while growing up. it was at the age of 14 that he knew he wanted to be an idol. he auditioned for best entertainment and became a trainee there. while being a trainee he had to juggle school and part-time jobs. finally, at 16 he debuted in a boy group that after 4 years, broke up. at 20 years old he debuted as a solo artist, rain. after not being paid and being poorly treated by his label, jihoon left that label and at the age of 26, he started his own label. jjh entertainment consisted of just him and a few employees before he started countrywide auditions. 

jihoon has had many scandals and rumors involving him dating other celebrities. there was a period in time where jihoon had partied non-stop, and a photo of him had even spread through the internet. some say that he has multiple tapes, but the world will never know. he is no longer a playboy, or at least that's the image he now portrays to the media. he very much loves his wife, but once a playboy, always one.
