as far as she could remember, sojin had always been the mom of the group. as a child, she had thought beyond her age, and has always been called "too mature". because of this, boys had always been too intimidated to approach her.

sojin came from a family of lawyers. thus, growing up, she was expected to pursue law as well. she had been an overachiever--hoarding awards in every class, and in every contest she could get her hands on. however, she never really felt fulfilled, not when she felt like she had only been doing it to follow her family's wishes. 

although it might sound boring, all sojin wanted was a quiet life. maybe it was because she grew up amidst all the chaos that comes with having a whole family of lawyers, judges, and prosecutors, but she never really wanted any of that. all she wanted was to start her own boutique as a fashion designer, and maybe even have her own cafe. sojin had a passion for practical arts, but her parents had always dismissed it, saying that those are merely hobbies. during her high school years, she had no choice but to comply, but as soon as she got into college, she chose to go on her own--attending classes in the morning, and working several jobs in the afternoon in order to provide for her own needs.

in college, sojin majored in fashion design and graduated at the top of her class. this proved herself to her family--though they were still wary of the path she wanted to take, she didn't mind what they thought anymore.

as she worked as an assistant designer in a company, sojin honed her designing skills, and was eventually promoted as a head designer. however, it went downhill after that. the ceo of the company she was working for was found to have several cases filed against him, some of which were embezzlement and human trafficking. because of this, the company was shut down, and all of the workers were laid off, including sojin.

in a desperate attempt to find a job, sojin had tried to apply in different companies. intially, she just wanted a temporary job to pay for her bills--however, when she was assigned to be a manager, her motherly instincts were awakened again, and despite the less than average salary, she found herself liking taking care of people. all the love and care she never received from her family made her promise to herself that she would not let anyone experience what she did, which is why she had become the resident mom wherever she goes.
