Background
Chris Bang, going my the name "Bang chan", came from overseas to korea in order to study at the university especially and only for magical creatures. He never got in contact with humans as he's been raised by a wizard. originally, bang chan isn't even from this world. a timetravelling spell casted by a successful magician from a village in australia brought him into this world. he is thousands of years old, appears like a 24 year old boy to humans and everyone he doesn't trust.
The dragon has a rough past on his shoulder - he used to fight for dominance, to hunt for his tribe, and he never had to hide. in this world, that was the major change for him. at first, he had huge problems with not being the superior species. since dragons are extremely intelligent, bang chan learned how to speak quite quickly. the wizard had raised the dragon and taught him useful magical spells that would help him survive in this world that we call our earth. our earth, though, wasn't his earth. Not even close to what his home was like since where he had lived, a place such as the earth didn't exist. indeed, he was interested in learning about the world. and after only 60 years of training, he had been able to recode his body to a whole different creature. this creature would be the friendly face you see right in front of you - bang chan's human cover.
With more training, he had managed to push his skills even further. you could say, bang chan has a lot of experience with magic, and after many, many more years, it was time for the dragon to say goodbye to his friend who had died due to his high age. Wizards got a lot older than humans, just like dragons. there was no war that the books at school teached about that he hasn't witnessed, and his human form would age just as slowly as the strong, majestic reptile within him. he is a naturally proud creature, but just as proud as he is, he doesn't brag about what he is. Actually, he usually doesn't even mention.
When his master died, chan realized that he wouldn't be able to find his way back home, so he'd have to somehow survive in a world where hatred, pain, hunger and war ruled everything. for short, he'd have to survive in a world run by humans.
his biggest issue about this was that he was an outsider. it took him a long time to understand how humans socialized, what they felt, and how they were affected. this also is why he chose psychology as his major.
He moved to the city and lived like a human from that moment on. his instincts as a dragon, of course, stayed. Being pressed into the society system as humans knew it made him an introverted person. he relied on himself more than others, because they would either try to solve things in far too complicated ways or their ways were so absurd that he was already able to predict they were going to fail.
Since he has a lot of life experience already, chan realized he couldn't really follow humans and their ideas of life, and eventually, he got to hear of this place from another wizard who had felt his strong aura and recognized him as a dragon. He was interested, and one day, when he moved from his small flat in australia to korea, his long and hard training would pay off. in almost no time, chan was able to relax and feel somewhat comfortable within the other creatures. since there was a chance to study in the magical field, he decided to pick fire bending as his m-major.
personality
Bang Chan is a rather introverted, yet really friendly guy. when you approach him, you can feel his eyes study you closely as he is interested in learning about you. Sometimes he honestly is a bit lost, but once he understands a situation, he can reflect on his past experiences and somehow sort them in.
If you befriend him, he will be a friend who'd never leave your side. Loyality probably is his strongest trait.
sometimes, he can be a bit clumsy as well and he never really learned how to cook well. he loves giving out hugs since he didn't really socialize a lot, so he craved the feeling of being accompanied deep inside. you could say he feels lonely, which probably is his biggest issue. due to being lonely, he doesn't really talk much and just tends to be by himself. Another reason might be that he started speaking korean only about 4 years ago, from the day when he got informed about the university.
his second form is more of a characteristic symbol for bang chan. He found a lot of interest in foxes and studied them closely, so his other form is a red fox. without the wizard's guidance, though, chan didn't manage to shift to the complete form of a fox - when he shifts, his head still is bigger and has something less elegant than a foxes', and he is too muscular. another thing was that he couldn't get rid of his feathers, and even bang chan who had so much left to learn about this world knew that foxes certainly didn't grow feathers.
