Growing up, Jisoo had the usual affluent background. A father, a mother, and an older brother with plenty of cushion to spare if he somehow hit rock bottom. Peering from the outside in, some would say that Jisoo's background is what made him untouchable and desirable. However, one can only want what they believe to be good for them. He had the opposite opinion on his situation. In fact, Jisoo hated that he had to suffer through dinners permeated in sickening silence. Heck, his father didn't, no couldn't even look him in the face during his high school years. His older brother was the pride of the family and that fact was etched into stone when Jisoo decided that he preferred boys over girls. The first time he noticed his deviant ual preferences was when he was 7 years old. Rather, his brother coaxed it out of him using methods that cause him to wake up in the middle of the night sweating. He never spoke of this to his parents for fear of insufferable consequences, but over a decade later, he regrets keeping it his dirty secret.
Throughout high school, Jisoo kept to himself. He thought if he earn the grades and the achievements, maybe his parents will stop looking at his brother and focus on him for once. It worked for a while. Freshman and sophomore year was the best time of his life. He felt like things were going his way for once. However, it was when he started dating his first boyfriend in Junior that things began to fall apart. First it was the little things. Sometimes he'll get a note or two that would contain slurs. Then it escalated into verbal insults under the breath as he passed by. The more the abuse came, the less his friends stuck by his side. Yet who could blame them? No one wanted to be roped into something they had no part in. The icing on the cake came when Jisoo slipped up one day and left his phone in his gym bag. It never got physical, but sometimes Jisoo wished they did so maybe he'll have actual scars to bear as proof of his suffering.
And with that, Jisoo spent the rest of his Junior and Senior year at home. The silence was bearable if he was left alone to his studies, but whenever his brother came home, Jisoo felt the dirt stick to his skin. He needed to be free from his household, so when he got the chance to attend university on a full ride with dorm and meals included, he didn't bother to say goodbye. He was never looking back again. However, now that's he starting to pledge into a fraternity, Jisoo feels like his past might come back to wreak havoc. He wasn't sure why he decided to join in the first place. Perhaps it was the promise of fun without strings and brotherhood that drew him in. Whatever it was, it has him locked down and he's not sure how to feel about that.

Jisoo likes to go against the grain. After his mix up in high school, he realized that laying low kept him weak and he hated that feeling more than anything. If it felt wrong then it must be right is what he continues to tell himself as the driving motivation behind some of his actions. Despite his rebellious nature, he's a rather anxious individual with a surprising need for approval. The approval that his parents neglected to give him and the unwanted attention that his brother enforced on him gave him a warped perception of what it means to be loved. He wants you to look at him and tell him he's making the right choice even if his mind and body tells him he's constantly ing up. There's a part of him that wants to nurture those around him, but that fear of being used drives him insane and he can't bother to give up a piece of his true self just to satisfy another person. He would rather hurt than be hurt by anyone.
