Dahye mostly grew up in the foster care system, her father leaving before she was born and her mother dying a several years later, leaving her only with a few happy memories and the ability to play the guitar. There aren't any good memories from those homes, she almost always ran away which guaranteed that she would never be adopted into a family with a "problem child" label attached to her. After she turned 18, she stayed in school as long as she could but being kicked out of her foster home made that hard. She struggled to find shelter and food for a few years, resorting to dumpster diving stealing until she found an old guitar in the street, probably for someone's trash to pick up and snatched it from the street. Not really having any sheet music and a minor ability to read it from one the schools she went to as a kid, she learned a few popular songs on the radio and started to play. It helped feed her but didn't provide enough to keep her safe and warm and fall and winter were fast approaching. She got a job as a waitress at a near by Olive Garden. Now she does both as she saves up to try and finally get her GED.
