ABOUT ME:
Kim Taehyung wasn't a natural super, meaning he wasn't born with his powers. In fact, these powers are a relatively new development.
In 2013, he partook in a school trip to the maldives; their purpose being to build housing and schools for the more rural communities that couldn't afford to do this themselves. It was the day before they left for South Korea, the sun was at its peak and it was hotter than had ever been recorded before on the islands. The locals and Taehyung's group decided it was best to go to the nearest main city for shelter, as they had heard that random areas in the island were being engulfed in flames from the heat. As they boarded the bus, Taehyung took the chance to look back and saw that an elderly man had fainted on the way to the bus. Taehyung did what he thought anybody would do, he left the bus in a rush to help the old man but he didn't expect what happened next.
As soon as he reached the old man, there was a deafening boom and a flash of light. The next thing he knew, he was waking up 16 months later in Seoul, covered in third degree burns. It took months for him to heal, and even now, his body is covered in the residual scarring.
For the first few months from leaving the hospital went smoothly; he would have the occasional hot flash, and would become extremely fatigued after the sun went down, his skin was hot to touch and sometimes, he could swear that he was stronger in the sunlight.
It was an accident, when he fully manifested his powers in 2017. It was the summer, and he was at the beach with his friends. As soon as at it 12 pm , when the sun was at its highest, Taehyung felt himself burning up, hotter and hotter, until he swore he felt like he was on fire. The same flash of light, the same from that fateful day, came again but this time, he woke up only a few minutes later.
He woke up to a circle of burning sand, charred husks that used to be beach goers and his skin was glowing with the power of the sun. Despite the damage he had caused, and the fear in his friends and others eyes, he felt powerful and strong.
When the adrenaline faded, he realised with horror what he had done; killed multiples and set buildings ablaze. So Taehyung did the only thing he thought of.
He ran.
He ran faster and further than he ever thought he could. He didn't know where we was going, but something in him, deep down, was guiding him where to go.
He ran fast enough that his feet barely touched the ground, or rather, the ocean surface.
And suddenly, it appeared. Like a glistening beacon of hope, the island of the Originals appeared and he collapsed at their doorstep. He woke up a few days later, with the Original Five by his side, and they explained to him what had happened.
That day in the Maldives, wasn't just a extremely hot day, it was a freak solar storm and when the biggest explosion went off on the sun, the radiation had travelled to earth and hit Taehyung; giving him solar manipulation.
Now, a year later, his powers are mostly under control, and he discovers new limitations and adaptions every day. Occasionally, he has to disappear, for there are days where the sun is more active than others, and he can't control himself as well as he would like.
