byun baekhyun!

(spoilers for avatar: the last airbender. if you want to read my bio guess you gotta watch it : DDD whoops.)

prince zuko, born in a royal family, never got what he so seldom deserved. his mother favoured him because he was sensitive and kind, unlike his sister who liked to hurt turtle ducks for fun. zuko wanted to be number one in his father's eyes, however, he was never as good at firebending as his sister was. she was the prodigy who learned to lightning bend at 14, and he was the one who couldn't bend a proper flame until he was 10. however, when zuko's mother mysteriously disappeared, zuko fell into a deep depression and strived harder to get his father to like him. he attended all the meetings he could, worked harder and harder to master his firebending, but he was never better than azula. his weakness was that he was too sensitive, but that just made him more and more colder as he grew older. 

when zuko turned the age of 14, he was invited into a meeting that only included generals and his father, the fire lord. zuko was ecstatic, and enjoyed every minute of it. until, one of the generals proposed the idea that they use fire nation troops as bait. zuko was enraged, arguing that these were innocent people with families who wanted to fight for their country. zuko was shamed for speaking out of turn, and was invited to an agni kai, to restore his honour.

however, to zuko's eyes, he saw his father stand before him. zuko couldn't hurt his father. he begged and pleaded, apologized nonstop. but his father thought he was pathetic. zuko's right eye was burned, a permanent scar across it.

the only way to restore his honour was to capture the avatar. zuko went on a long journey looking for the avatar, who most thought was a long cause as he was dead years ago. zuko never gave up, and soon, started a mice and cat chase after the young avatar. zuko chased avatar aang and his friends across the globe, getting so close but never succeeding. it wasn't until the north pole when zuko had nothing left, that his sister came to his rescue.

she was taking him prisoner, and from after that point he got away, he severed all ties with the fire nation, and became a banished refugee. his uncle iroh and him traveled the earth kingdom to reach ba sing se, where his father and him worked at a tea shop. 

zuko soon learned that the avatar was in ba sing se, and tried to capture him. betraying his uncle and one of the avatar's friends, katara, he sided with azula and killed the avatar while in the avatar state.

zuko was welcomed back into the fire nation under false causes, his sister giving him all the glory when zuko never did anything. zuko hated living with false honour, until zuko realized that his honour didn't reside with his father, no, it was with the avatar. 

he escaped the fire nation and convinced the avatar and his gang to invite him back in, zuko becoming aang's firebending teacher. zuko was outcasted by all of them, until going on 'soulsearching field trips' with all of them. zuko was finally accepted. 

on the day of the final battle, zuko and katara went off to fight azula and help aang take back the fire nation and the world. zuko and azula fought hard, until azula shot a lightning strike at katara, which zuko took the shot without second thought. katara finished azula off, and the two walked away, zuko eternally injured, but unlike his scar, it was from saving a friend he cared about.

zuko was crowned fire lord of the fire nation after aang defeated fire lord ozai, and the two walked into the sunrise of a new era of peace.

at the age of 20, zuko's uncle iroh was murdered. stricken with grief, zuko searched for a way to find iroh in the spirit world. he would bring iroh back, or would find out who killed him. zuko searched hard, and somehow found a loophole. upon stepping in, he was transported into a new world. there was no bending in this world, and zuko was a nobody. zuko, unsure of how to get back, created the identity of byun baekhyun, a 20 year old man with no education or money. baekhyun lived on the streets for a year, somehow much more difficult than being a refugee in the earth kingdom, before he managed to find a job at a local tea shop. the shop was small yet reminded him of his uncle, baekhyun loved every moment of working there. he managed to save up enough money to buy a small apartment, barely liveable. he got by, until someone noticed how well he was with the swords he took over into this world. the swords was the one thing he had from his own world, he wasn't going to sell them. awed by his skill, he got hired to work at the rec centre and teach people how wield dual swords. being a master in what this world called 'martial arts', baekhyun also made a living off of being a martial arts teacher. 

the kids loved his blunt and cold personality, but they never failed to put a smile on his face. baekhyun would teach cocky teenagers, but baekhyun never failed to put them in their place. the adults loved learning from baekhyun, despite how young he was, because he was straight to the point and didn't allow a lot of fun for them. 

baekhyun continued on like this, working nights and weekends as a teacher and in the days as a tea shop employee. whatever spare time he had, baekhyun searched for a way to get back. baekhyun felt horribly lonely, he missed his friends and he missed his kingdom. as the days turned to months and the months into years, baekhyun's anxiety peaked because he thought people would forget him. 

baekhyun still to this day struggles to get back to his real world, but somehow, he seems a bit attached to the world he is currently in.
