history

about where i'm from.

Ji Hyeran was born and raised in Bronx, New York to a Social Worker father and a mother who is an elementary school teacher. She is an only child so can be a bit spoiled but she hung out with a lot of her male cousins who were all like big brothers to her. Many people say that she acts more like a guy than a girl as well.

When she was 6, she moved to South Korea where her parents put her in Shaolin Kung Fu which she has now mastered. When she was 8, she discovered her love for dance and was trained by the best dancers her parents could find in many different types of dance with her specialty being hip hop dance and modern dance. She started to receive voice and singing lessons from the age of 10 and got her first gig doing a kids commercial. For the next four years, Hyeran would attend school while being tutored in languages as well as being a part of the cast of Mickey Mouse Club and having small roles in dramas.

For High School, Hyeran studied abroad in Japan and then spent a year traveling in China and the US working as a freelance choreographer before only recently coming back in time to find out about the auditions for Urban Entertainment. Never liking to be still for too long, she jumped at the chance and easily passed the audition with her dancing. She continues to work as a freelance choreographer mostly for Urban but will work for other artists or companies.

This girl is nothing short of weird.

All her life she has had moments where she'll become obsessed with something and it'll take over her life. It started with Harry Potter, then moved to anime and then when she was 10 years old, she was introduced to her very first kpop song. Ever since, she has loved kpop through and through and has made several close friends because of it.

She can seem a bit distant at first, and somewhat antisocial, but that's only to people she just met. The more formal she is with you, the less comfortable she is around you. Once you get to know her, you are entered into her world and you can never leave. From the outside looking in, it would seem like she has multiple personalities and she most likely does. Her usual self however is very talkative and funny. She loves to dance and party and joke around with her friends and family. The only place she truly feels happy is on the stage. She is very protective of the people she cares about and won't let anyone hurt them without consequences.

Growing up in the Bronx, she developed a lot of slang words and can appear to be cold, harsh or thuglike. However this is just an outward facade because the truth is she can be very cute when she wants to be (and sometimes even when she doesn't want to be).
