Che Huixuan, better known internationally as Nico Che didn’t have the upbringing most people would expect from the average person. This is in part because he’s not the average person. When he was born, he had an older brother and an older sister, despite never having gotten the opportunity to meet his sister even if he only was a baby. His brother was his parents’ angel, and could do no wrong. Due to this, Nico was neglected and not even given a name for the month he lived with his parents and brother in South Korea. He was born the third child to Boris Ivanov and Kang Minjee, and was the second to be given up. His parents’ excuse forgiving him up, being the disabilities he was born with. They sent him to China to grow up in the foster care system, disappointed and even as far as to say disgusted with his weak heart and frail bones. With his constant waterworks and weak lungs. In the system, he was given the name Che Huixuan and raised as Chinese despite being mixed. In the time of his upbringing, he would go between households between anywhere from three days and a month, but he never once got to stay in a home long-term as a child. He was too much work, his foster parents would complain. Disappointed in going from home to home so frequently, he took up dancing. He used it to distract himself, not minding with any of the times he broke a bone. All it meant was that he would be in a new home within a few days. Nothing he wasn’t used to. In his dance classes, he made friends with a boy just a couple years younger than him named Lian Huaiwei. Despite being a foster kid and despite his disabilities, they became best friends. And by the time he turned seventeen, he was adopted by his best friends parents to save him from the oh so dreaded fate of aging out of the system. Life was almost normal at this point. He simply accepted the fact that no one wanted him. Not even his friends parents who only adopted him out of pity, not even bothering to change his last name to theirs. This was what made him feel and realize that they took him in due to nothing but the burden and guilt that they would have felt if they had let him age out of the system. So him and Huaiwei lived their lives mostly peacefully, causing trouble every once in a while but being as careful as they could to avoid getting hurt. At age twenty-two, Huixuan adopted the name Nico and moved to Korea as a trainee under lotus entertainment. He worked as hard as he could with his limited strength, energy, and ability. And his hard work paid off. At the end of the first season of Limitless he made it into the final lineup and despite not having the most powerful voice or the most ability to work day in and day out on the songs released with Real Fiction, he worked his hardest. Later he was put into X.MPIRE and Rhythm, although Rhythm was never able to release a song as they had been planning to initially. He was thankful for his opportunities and to have people who helped and accepted him. However, he left for China with his best friend to undergo procedures that would, hopefully, allow him to work harder and be more successful. Months later, after each procedure had been completed and all of his physical therapy had also been dealt with and completed, much more quickly than anticipated, he found himself back in Korea and went right back to work. The curiosity, however, was beginning to come back to him, and he began to realize how truly unhappy he was. He couldn’t trust people as much as he had wished he could have. He wanted to trust and he wanted to be happy, so he put on a face. Be bubbly, be kind, mostly, and have energy. This became his policy, and he followed it as well as he could. It would take a lot for someone to crack that.
