Description

Park Jaehyung was born and raised in Korea. His parents’ careers in business often prompted him to move numerous times, so while he picked up some English in his travels, he was deprived of a stable childhood. He didn’t have friends for very long and most of his time was spent studying. Aside from moving frequently, he was your Average Joe; he did well in academics but didn’t particularly excel, he participated in school activities didn’t often take a leadership role, and he got along with part-time coworkers well enough for food work references but nothing more. It was a rather dull lifestyle.

The only constant in Jae’s life was music. His trusty guitar kept him company during lonely nights. Although his parents were often busy, they put in effort to be supportive parents as they understood how difficult of a situation his son had been put through. He enjoyed playing for them when their little family was able to sit down for dinner a few times a month.

It wasn’t until he turned 20 that his world turned upside down. In the blink of an eye, his parents vanished from his life. It was an unfortunate accident when his parents departed on a plane for a business trip. Jae was old enough be an independent adult but with his lack of interest in anything else other than his guitar, he never invested in the real world alone. It wasn’t difficult. He could find part-time work like usual and his parents’ insurance left him with enough to survive for a good while. The real issue was isolating and devastating. Spiraling into a deep depression, Jae struggled to find a reason to continue.

The silver lining was a stranger, a street performer named Luna. Enticed by the music, Jae watched and applauded the stranger. In turn, the mysterious stranger seemed to read him. It honestly freaked him out how the stranger sensed Jae’s lost spirit, but he is forever indebted because that fateful encounter led to Jae joining the music industry in exchange for his apartment.

Although slightly forced, Jae is now a more reinvigorated optimist. Usually a skeptic of fate, he cherishes second chances and makes an effort to become a more cheerful, more earnest being. He’s a bit rough around the edges as he’s not the most social butterfly in the world and doesn’t always get all the social cues, but he’s always ready to give 120% of himself. A part of him longs for the friendships he never really maintained and if there’s a chance he can get on someone’s good side, he’ll most likely do it, making him a bit gullible at times. Underneath his positive can-do spirit, he has a hard time expressing his feelings and can sometimes seem difficult to approach.
