naturally, as some children with neglectful parents do, younghyun began to act out. he became a rebellious child; the black sheep of the family. as a result, his parents shipped him off to a boarding school for troubled teens in canada.
younghyun doesn't talk about his time there with anyone – even his closest friends and significant others. by the time high school was over, brian applied for the university of solace, his parents paying for his college tuition despite their lack of faith in him. deemed as the failure of the kang family, no one truly expects much out of him. in fact, younghyun doubts his parents even know what major he's taking – but that's fine with him.
he's decided since high school that he's going to prove his parents wrong – that he isn't just some rebellious kid with a penchant for dragging the family name down. that's why he does his best to excel in everything he does – from his studies, to his extra curriculars, younghyun is determined to prove a point (not just to his parents – to himself, as well).
