Background: Priyanka Mazumdar was born as the only child to a retired Olympic swimmer and coach, so it's no surprise that the water was her first love. From a very early age, she started training to swim professionally. As soon as she could, she was competeing in swimming competitions and became a household name in India for her successes. And at 15, she began officially training for to audition for the Olympic team. Priyanka had her eyes set on the literal and proverbial prize, but it wasn't like swimming was her only hobby. Priyanka loved to draw, sing, and dance, and she fell in love with the world of K-pop when a friend introduced her to  it during school.

Past being a fan, however, K-pop hadn't really been that big of a possibility in Priyanka's mind. She loved listening to it in her down time, she loved supporting her favorite groups, but dreaming of being a part of it wasn't very realistic.

That is, of course, until she discovered the K-Pop World Festival when she was around 18. She auditioned for it, sending in a home audition video to KBS and that catapulted her into the industry. She passed with flying colors, went on to compete in the festival, and won the Excellent Vocal Award in the regionals. Moving past regionals, she competed at the main competition in Seoul. It had been a life-changing experience. Priyanka fell in love with more than just K-pop as she came to love Seoul and the friends she made along the way. She finished in third place. It wasn't a win, but she was satisfied. She was more than satisfied, really. She'd found a new dream.

Going to her parents with the news that she didn't want to swim anymore had been incredibly daunting. It was so frightening that she didn't bring it up to them until a few months after returning home to Guwahati.

Priyanka had expected the absolute worse, but when she broke the news to her mother and father, they were supportive. Overwhelmingly so. They'd seen how well she did during the competiton and how happy she looked and decided from there that they would support their only child with whatever she wanted. So, she began auditioning. Priyanka auditioned for multiple companies, going in person during the rare times a company came to India, but mostly via video and video call. Between finishing school and maintaining a bit of her swimming career, it took a couple of years but Priyanka finally caught her break with Lotus.

Her audition with Lotus had been a Skype interview. They were looking for someone to replace a member of the group Rouge Melody, so things were rather urgent. Priyanka sang a Korean song, a Hindi song to show her personal color, and then she did a cover of Rouge Melody's debut song for good measure. When she finished it all and looked back at the computer screen, she was met with the wide grin of the recruiter as he asked when the soonest she could fly out was. From there, Priyanka's new dream really kicked off.

After debuting successfully as a member of RoMe, Priyanka had to suddenly leave the group in between promotions due to to a family emergency that required her to be home for half a year. When she was finally able to get back to Korea, Priyanka decided that maybe being an idol wasn't for her. She took the interruption as a sort of sign and decided on a different course of action as a freelance vocal coach and demo singer, which allows her more life freedom. She also writes songs and does a lot of self promoting, sending them to big names in hopes of having them see the light of day.

Talents: Vocals, dancing, songwriting

Hobbies: swimming, drawing, covering songs, photography

Personality: Priyanka is what an elderly woman would coo at and call a lovely girl. She's polite, respectful, and very nice when she wants to be. However, there are times that her sarcastic side slips through or she just says what's on her mind. This doesn't mean she's filterless; quite the opposite actually. Priyanka believes in a right time and place philosophy for pretty much all things. She's very passionate, hardworking, and optimistic. She has tomboyish tendencies, loving sports (especially swimming) and preferring to wear pants. If she's ever to wear a dress or skirt, it's probably for some important event and not on her own accord.

guidelines

•i prefer plotting over winging. please pm me for anything that isn't actually rping. when it comes to plotting, i do expect some cooperation from you. don't just go along with what i say, please please provide input. that way we have a plot that we're both totally happy with!
•i prefer rping in 3rd paragraph (nothing crazy long, 1-3 solid paragraphs) but script is okay too. i generally write in 3rd no matter what, but don't let that stop you from doing 1st script if you'd like.
•reply speed varies with me, especially during the work week. i'm a writing tutor, so i don't always feel like writing here after being burnt out. sorry ;; you don't have to poke me, i always know if i haven't replied. you may, however, poke me if it's been more than two weeks.
•if you think we need to work something out, get back on track, or completely overhaul a plot because it's straying or dying a bit, let me know! i'll do the same for you and we can figure it out together. teamwork makes the dream work, family!
•i don't plot budding romance, that has to come naturally and with chemistry. i also don't really do , definitely not if my character is underage! that said, i'm not opposed to it! we can also imply for the sake of a plot. but again NO MINORS
•finally, when it comes to starting i don't do that whole "you ask, you start thing." if it makes more sense for something to be started from one character's pov, that's who should start.

[ Sailed On | Male | OPEN ] "Like two ships passing in the night We're gone." While competing in the K-Pop World Festival, Priyanka spent about four months in Seoul. Away from her parents for the first time in her life and barely speaking the language, she was relieved when you came into her life. What started out as simple translation and city-navigation help became something more, a sort of emotional fling of sorts. Both you and Priyanka knew she'd eventually leave to go back home once the competition was over and she did, but you both swore to keep in contact. But people drift apart, especially with distance, and that contact stopped after a few months. With Priyanka back in Seoul for good, fate decides to bring you two back together. It's...odd, to say the least, but it's hard to forget that connection you two had and maybe it's worth trying again just to get that closure. Maybe things were meant to continue and maybe they weren't. There's really only one way to find out.
