Chanyeol is born in the countryside, a town not known for anything else except for their paddies. He enjoys his time there, playing in the woods, hanging out with his friends in the small rundown arcade in the shopping district, swimming, and fishing in the river right in front of his school. But when his father is transferred to Seoul, he transfers schools and that is when the cultural differences become too permanent. No one would want to befriend a country bumpkin, even more so when he doesn’t use a smartphone. On his 17th birthday and countless hours of part-time shifts, Chanyeol gets himself a smartphone. His parents even add some amount of money so he could buy it without installments. Weeks after owning one, the Internet has become his one and only friend. He plays games, meets online friends, follows schoolmates on Instagram. His life is changing until one night, Chanyeol decides to try out a new game that is inflicted with rumors after rumors. Nothing will happen and those rumors are a hoax, he thinks until he finds himself as a player: Park Chanyeol, forest elf, LVL 1.

He slowly finds his way inside the game, using all the skills and materials he has garnered, finding ways to one day escape the wicked arena. But does he want to leave? He has a home here, and the elves care about him like a family. He has never felt like anyone in the real world reaches out to him like the ones in this game have. And it is not too bad living in the game. Chanyeol slowly gains skills, he can farm, craft, cook and even learn combat skills. Life is easy here except for the constant threat from the demons. But other than that, it is home sweet home. As Chanyeol broods over it, he finds himself wondering whys and hows — who made this game? And why?

Chanyeol fears nothing that belongs to the wood. It is his home and he loves everything that encompasses the luscious greeneries and the subtle touches of colors around him. He is easily encouraged by anything, and is used to nature, he levels up pretty quickly in the game. But, he can be a careless person, easily swayed by emotions, especially the happy ones and will always find himself in trouble. Chanyeol mostly follows his heart when it comes to decision-making, so it is easy to fool the elf. He is kind, friendly and loves to give rather than receive. He can also be quick-tempered and unforgiving, especially when his trust has been betrayed. Once that happened, the person on the receiving end will be treated as an enemy and he will no longer believe in anything the other says.
