background
his name is jungwoo and he likes fried chicken and soccer. his parents own a few successful restaurant franchises and he has an older sister who's a senior in college. he was raised in a healthy household and is doted on as the youngest of the family. his family only wants him to be happy and he only wants his family to be happy. it's adorably wholesome but a little confusing sometimes. growing up, jungwoo was like a little duckling to his older sister that, he still to this very day, is incredibly close to. he did everything that she did and followed her every word. luckily, she was a great sister to him and raised him into a sweet and compassionate boy. in school, jungwoo tended to follow this pattern with his friends. he'd follow his group of friends like a quiet and obedient little duckling. if they wanted to play soccer, he'd play soccer with them. if they wanted to play video games, he'd play video games with them. but if they wanted to do something devious, he'd be their moral compass and that was his role. the thing about jungwoo is that he will never judge you, but instead, make you judge yourself and hope that you make the choices that best suit you because he doesn't know what's best for you - he's not a psychic. it'd be cool if he were, though.
as a senior in high school, jungwoo became unsure of what he wanted to do. he'd always gone with the flow and followed anybody that would lead him. it's what he does as a follower. but graduating and becoming an adult meant that he would have to lead himself, so he laid out his options and began trying out new things. he worked at his family's franchise often before, but he had never worked and the kitchen and started on that. he enjoyed it, but thought he wasn't challenging himself enough and decided to keep searching. next, he decided that maybe he should join the military, so he went to a recruiting event. it was organized and structured, which was perfect for jungwoo, who relied on those to lead him, but his soft squishy personality wasn't much of a fit for it. it wasn't him that was uncomfortable with it, it was the recruiters that turned him around and convinced him not to join the military as a career, telling him that they'll put him in a nice division when it was his turn to serve the country. maybe he smiled a little too much during the event. but after that event, he heard that one of his favorite bands was taking trainees for their company and auditioned because... why not? jungwoo's sister always took pictures of him growing up, so he was a natural in front of the camera and he was a healthy boy who got easily swept into trends, including that really random phase in middle school where everybody was break dancing, so it wasn't too hard for him to learn a dance to audition with. he didn't really know how to sing properly but he enjoyed karaoke with his friends and family and he wasn't terrible, so along all that fun stuff, he somehow got into the company as a trainee.
