❛ On Camera : Taehyung likes to keep a clear line between his on-stage persona, V, and who he is behind cameras, Taehyung. On camera, V isn’t necessarily fake but rather more aware and mindful of the way he acts or what he says, coming from a very well known group he has had to learn the hard way that everything he says and done can potentially ruin his career. It’s something that constantly bothers him and is very evident in the way he appears more closed off on the screen than he has been before. His fans often call him “Blank Tae”—as V might seem a little expressionless and serious when you first see him. But he’s still known as one of BTS’s mood-makers, the 4D member, and is very vibrant and playful when on variety shows. In his group he’s known as the “Alien”—he’s a little weird sometimes and has a lot of unusual quirks and habits.

❛ Off Camera :  Despite being very friendly and out-going, Taehyung’s still closed off, preferring to keep his insecurities and concerns to himself. While valuing honesty above all, there are things he doesn’t share with even those closest to him—not because he doesn’t trust them, but because he doesn’t want to burden them. He genuinely cares a lot (maybe too much) for those around him, and is deeply hurt when those feelings aren’t returned. There’s a side of him that’s still very childish and immature, despite his great effort to conceal it, it’s often even caught on camera. He’s very, very sensitive, after all, and although he’s a great actor, he’s not so great and masking his own emotions as he himself gets overwhelmed by them at times.

He’s a pessimist at heart, a quality he doesn’t really like in himself but can’t help but be a little too harsh on himself. But it pushes him to work hard at everything he does, giving everything he has, wanting to prove everyone and himself as well what he’s capable of. But his negative outlook for himself doesn’t stop him from enjoying life, he’s a very passionate person who loves to love, and is constantly trying to improve himself and grow as a person. In some people’s eyes he’s a little odd or even weird, but Taehyung takes great pride in his uniqueness and in that aspect he’s very carefree and doesn’t care what people think of him. ‘Haters gonna hate’—so even if words can hurt him deeply, he still sticks to what he believes in and does what he wants, be it his unusual fashion sense or tendency to truthfully speak his mind even if it makes no sense to others.
