it was one of the first sunny days of the year when sunwoo was born to the king, the queen and their first son, sunwoo never lacked any-"thing" - sunwoo was brought up in a way that always gave him what he wanted - all he had to do was to act in his clan's favour. despite always having poured his heart into any action he started, sunwoo was an easy slave to his family for the longest time of his life. early on, he's been looking up to his father - knowing that all of his trust was put on his older brother's shoulders felt worse than any physical punishment could have ever had. 

Sunwoo grew out rebelling a lot. not meaning to harm others in his early teens, he was simply seeking one thing - the attention of his parents. sunwoo had always been the last choice. as far as he can think back, his brothers had always been the center of attention, and his only way of accomplishing that is resorting to causing trouble in some kind of form. The record of things sunwoo has ed up big time is long, very long, but they also were things that could never possibly get to the public's ear - his clan's reputation was at stake. therefore, sunwoo always got away with his actions, some of them being inhuman to the point of where nobody dared to think about them.

being the black sheep among the brothers, sunwoo has always been blamed for whatever he was accused of, after all, he was the bad guy, no matter what. He was the one lacking manners, lacking respect, simply a boy driven by instincts. he was convinced that if they could've, his parents would have banished him.
at some point, they've had enough, however, and sunwoo was forced to undergo treatment, and he still is forced to take his medicine - sedatives that are supposed to tone his anger management issues down. after years of his treatment, sunwoo was considered safe to claim his place in the royal society; to take responsibility for one of the most important systems of the land; the marine.

he used to run away, used to talk back, to shout at authority figures of any kind, respect wasn't quite a trait he called his; however, being sent to therapy at age 14, the peak of his rebellious phase, at least some of his behavior could be reversed to some extent. nowadays, things have gotten better, he reflects at least to some extent that made the doctors decide he could be considered safe.
his reckless personality, however, has never died down - his determination to become important, to matter, it burns in his chest until the day he dies; and he will not go until he reached his goal.

reckless, fearless, heartless - sunwoo's personal description of himself would probably look like this.
it was the time he didn't receive the recognition he needed in his childhood days that led him to find another source for his greatly desired validation, and sunwoo made a fatal choice to make it work - pushing himself, believing in himself at all times, relying on nobody but himself - after all, he grew up learning he couldn't rely on anyone but himself. He is driven by his instincts, is quick to act.

Sunwoo suffers from narcissistic personality disorder, a condition in which a fragile personality builds an unhealthy image of utter greatness and superiority around themselves in order to hide the fact that deep down, they have trauma that weighs them down. a narcissistic person cannot live without the positive attention they often seek from other people. Narcissistic people need others to like them, they depend on what other people think about them - simply because they have no sense of confidence whatsoever. pretending to to do so soon turns into an unleathy complex the patients find themselves trapped in. therapy is necessary to figure out past trauma and reversing harmful behaviorisms.
a narcissistic person will never be fully cured of their condition, however, therapy can help with the symptoms.

albeit there is doubt in letting sunwoo have full responsibility over the marines, sunwoo truly blooms in his profession. he has put his rebelious behavior towards his family down, mostly, at least. he still has an issue with authorities and fears inferiority, after all, deep down, sunwoo feels worthless, the need to be recognized has left its scars on the young prince; along with greed, with a need for power, control. sunwoo thinks with his heart. and in his troubled mind, whatever is a threat to his ego is bad, he often resorts to violence of any kind.

disclaimer: nobody but his family knows about his diagnosis and the things he has done in his teens, to the public, sunwoo is portrayed as a fearless, bold killing machine, loyal to his blood, an icon in war to his kind. sunwoo is known as the never dying fire of goguryeo.
 

watching the sunset, summer nights, parties, rock music, being the center of attention, challenges, citrus scented things, the color black status symbols.

hot weather, not receiving praise, bugs scary things, opinions contrary to his, ansolute seriousness. traditions.

he wears a lot of black clothes, he has a more modern style, prefers comfy baggy clothes over noble clothes which somewhat contradicts with his superiority complex, which is why at official events, he dresses very classy, even though he dislikes it, sunwoo has dark brown eyes, his natural hair color is black, but he loves experimenting with it and dyed it red. he has several percings, only limited to his ears, though. sunwoo has a tattoo of a match on his arm. click for his voice. no matter what, always expect him to wear black or monochrome outfits.

martial arts, hunting, fencing, archery, playing the bass, working out.

he repeats himself when he's excited, he absolutely hates slurping and chewing sounds, he is sensitive to sounds, bites his lips, always feeling fidgety (unless on pills), has a raspy voice since he smokes, he's very judgemental, short-tempered, very loyal towards  the ones he loves, adventurous, energetic, hates sparkling water, can't pass a mirror without looking at it, prefers going out at night rather than during the day hours.

has quick reflexes, good stamina, talking himself out of things, high pain tolerance, survival skills, brave, determined, most of the times he's the first to find a solution in a crisis, exceptional eyesight.

gets jealous easily, often gets into situations that harm him, self-centered, gets black-out drunk, has a terrible handwriting.

being his older brother, sunwoo envies him for the fact that his family's attention has always been on him, that he'd always received the attention sunwoo could only dream of - yet, he still looks up to him, even though he doesn't admit to that all too  easily,  after the throne was taken from goguryeo, they get very, very close, and he turns into his ride-or-die.

sunwoo's younger brother. because of his heart condition, sunwoo never dared to play with him after it was diagnosed, and he stays away from him in general because he knows that his brother strongly dislikes him.

jennie is by far the one of her siblings whom she trusts the most. she has always been there for sunwoo, even when the world seemed to be against him. she has supported him through a lot of rough times, and he is most likely to listen to her.

doyeon and sunwoo have always had a good relationship with one another - however, they bicker. and they do it a lot. there rarely are times when they're not bickering, but, they overall are on good terms with each other.

seuLgi has always gotten along well with sunwoo, she has been his favorite playmate back when they were still kids. she's always had his back, and the other way around.

sunwoo is a keeper. like this, he made his first Love his. they are engaged, and sunwoo would move mountains for nayeon. although their personalities are very different, they complete each other like two puzzle pieces.

dohwan has trained him on his way to become a true warrior ever since his early teens. his stern nature as a coach has made him want to impress the captain at all cost one day. since he passed, sunwoo feels guilty for never having thanked the captain properly for his services like he should have.
