doyoung didn't expect to work at a paper company of all places after graduating college. with his degree in computer science he assumed he would make it some place like nintendo or a security firm. that being said he's pretty comfortable where he is now, running operations at jeong-choi on second shift (or third shift on sundays). around the office he's known to be a "stuck-up" though that's mostly due to his lack of social skills. he's also said to sleep around a bit with fellow co-workers, though it's a well-known secret among them. at the end of the day doyoung is really just a walking disaster in a suit looking for a connection with someone (or maybe that's just the romance novels he reads on his breaks talking).

 

likes / coconut-flavored sweets, rainy days (inside), red wine while reading romance novels, bread, most british television (except racing shows), classical music, relaxing in bed, drinking water

dislikes / loud music (unless at a club), anything with celery in it, bingo, dealing with feelings in a way that is normal and healthy, smoking, cherry-flavored candies (remind him of cough syrup), regret, things that remind him of him (because it hurts and he's still so in love oh no...)

fears / commitment, being heartbroken, heights, any form of rodent, being alone for the rest of his life

secrets / he's still in love with his ex boyfriend from college, he definitely needs a therapist but has yet to get one, he's the one leaving food wrappers on the tables in the lobby (mostly by accident)

hobbies / reading romance novels, watching dramas before going to sleep, goes swimming twice a week because it's the only form of physical activity that doesn't make him feel like dry-heaving

— the ex | TAKEN | although they parted ways a year or two ago it wasn't a nasty, loud breakup. in fact, it was more like doyoung freaked out, dropped communication altogether and left his job to transfer to jeong-choi paper company, inc. so he could avoid ever seeing them again. now the ex has come back into his life as a new employee to the same company, and they're not even aware he also works here as doyoung has been doing his best to avoid them once again (as in "diving behind the vending machine in the break room" avoiding them). sooner or later they're going to find out who he is, but doyoung has never been good at accepting the inevitable - especially when he may or may not still be harboring feelings for the other.

— the distraction || it's no secret that this person has feelings for another member of the office, but of course they're too scared to say anything. craving contact from the object of their affections, but too chicken- to do anything about it, they turned to doyoung who (coughs) may or may not have been known to sleep around a little (honestly, it's all in the past, but with as lonely as he's begun to feeling doyoung didn't turn this particular person down). hence they're now in an officemates-with-benefits relationship. what doyoung wasn't expecting was to start developing feelings for them, still well-aware that they're in love with someone else and are only using him as an outlet. at some point it gets to be too much, but doyoung doesn't know how to stop himself from falling into bed with them whenever he's asked.

— the apprentice || so this person is extremely new the company, perhaps even to working a steady job and doyoung has decided to take them under his wing. it's nice to talk to and teach someone who doesn't have any ulterior motives or pays attention to the gossip around the office. for doyoung it's almost like that one meme, "i've only had so-and-so for a day but if anything happened to them i would kill everyone in this room and then myself." yeah...maybe he's being a little over-protective and parently, but that just goes to show he cares!

 

hey, the name's melo. i've been on this website since about 2013 and i like roleplaying. my muse has been absolute lately so my replies might be very slow. sorry in advance. other than that, here's a few rules and tips about roleplaying with me. don't be afraid to stop by for a chat!

i will tell you if i'm ever uncomfortable or want to change our plot, so please feel free to do the same with me. that being said, please don't try to persuade me into something i don't feel like doing.

when it comes to i have a few hard passes: hard , toilet play / / watersports, anything that involves electricity. that's all i can think of for now, but there might be more. i'll let you know. 

i prefer to plot a little and then go from there with my threads, though i am welcome to winging a plot as well.
