A summer day in Beijing, a daughter was born at sharp seven in the morning, her loud cries filled the labor room. There were only a few nurses with a doctor welcoming the new born with the mother, but her father was nowhere to be seen. After a couple of months, Song Li was discharged with her new born baby girl named Yuqi. Yuqi means 'The Jade in The Rain', Yu means Rain while Qi means Jade. It was given to her by her mother inspired by her story with Yuqi's father. Song Li's family was not acceptable to this child, to them it was a bastard child by an unknown man and Song Li was hypnotized by the man too because she kept explaining how the man was extraordinary. But the fact was, the family never saw the man during the whole pregnancy and he never showed up, as if he never existed. Even until that state Song Li still talked for the man, and the family found it absurd but still offered her two options: to abandon the child and come back to the family or cut ties with them and keep the baby. The prestigious family thought Song Li would care about her pride and chose the first option, but the fact is, she chose the latter.

To Yuqi, she grew up in a small, wholesome family with her mom. Her mom is an accountant and always have to bring accounts to do at home, but the salary could barely raise the two of them in the big city. So Yuqi has been exposed to the concept of money ever since young, she knew that if she studied hard she would get gifts as a reward and that her mom would not have to spend money on her, then those gifts into money and scholarships as she proceeded into higher levels in her studies. She is smart and hardworking, basically sweeping all the scholarships in her secondary school. Her mom from one point doesn't have to pay for her school fees anymore and their financial status slowly improves as they get to save up money. But one day her mom wakes her up and before she knows, the house is lit up in fire and she hears the deafening roars outside the house. The two of them run out from the house using the backdoor and still in her pajamas, her mom is driving her to somewhere. That's when she first knows about another part of her life, the part that her mother never mentions to her.
