Yuta didn't have a hard childhood, he grew up with his two loving parents that had adored him and each other, but he doesn't understand what happened to them when he was in second year of middle school. Maybe he was the reason when he had came out to them, his mother being supportive of him, telling Yuta that she'll always love him and his father... He didn't say anything, just nodded his head and turned back to his newspaper. It's unlikely that he was the cause of his parents falling out, but he couldn't help but think that.

For most of his teen years he had fallen in a deep depression because of his parents, nearly failing all of his classes. Yuta was scared to talk to others about his emotions, not wanting to show anybody how actually weak he is. In his last year of high school, he decided he didn't want to keep on being a mopey, emo er and so, he changed his ways, hiding his sadness in comedy and flirting.
