pretty simplistic in writing, easy to understand, writing style is a mix between first and third pov, leaning more towards first; however, is able to full on third just not novella.

destiny birthed wong kunhang into a financially unstable family. he was raised by a single mother with three younger siblings--each sibling pertaining to different fathers. as the oldest of the four, hendery had to take the position of a caretaker. during his young years, he would help his mother with chores and meals. once he turned the age of 16, he was working a part-time to help with bills all the while juggling with school. soon after, however, his life reached to a turning point as he became involved with the mafia around the age of 17 due to a situation he himself had created. hendery was an exceptional student all throughout high school, and yet, because his family needed him the most he opted to postpone university and focus on their well-being.

being one to know how to get his way with people, kunhang meticulously got himself involved with the wrong crowd at his part-time grocery store job. after gaining their trust, he manipulated and convinced them that they were to steal the money from the grocery store’s safe after closing time. little did he know, that money had tight bonds with one of the biggest gangs of the nation. therefore, although he succeeded to get the money, time caught him by the ear once the mafia leader paid him a visit. of course, the first few minutes within their talk was full of aggression and misunderstandings; yet unlike his now dead "friends," kunhang’s brains and confidence in a way moved the leader. despite kunhang had been  improvising his way with the leader, his manipulation skills failed yet his life was spared at a cost. he had to work for the mafia mainly to pay his debt. it started off with doing some dirty odd jobs on the side--mayhaps some snuggling of counterfeit money or drugs. since he was young, a top student, plus a family man, nobody would suspect of him being involved. he was quick to learn the ropes and good at executing them. his hardwork and intelligence further impressed the leader. it was as if kunhang was meant to work with the mafia. therefore, once he graduated from high school kunhang got promoted to be a hitman for the mafia; officially changing his name to hendery. despite his young age, hendery proved the gang that he was simply a natural at this.

++ he ended up quitting the grocery store, lied to his mom that he got an offer to work and make good money at another city so he was able to help with provision.
