Thorfinn Rowle, a pure blood wizard that took death eater path and died, leaving a daughter behind. Raven grew with her mother and learned a lot about her father. The fact he was an aggressive duelist, he was great with charms & dark arts... so great he would do nonverbal spells, he was also great with apparition. Despite his great skills, he was quite reckless and full of himself. Both him and Raven's mother detested muggle borns and blood traitors.

Just because of repetitive proud stories and the way her rich family raised her, Raven grew while looking down on muggle borns, she was proud of her Rowle name and was pushed to at least live up to her family's reputation, nobody expected her to be a death eater as her mother wasn't one ether, but she was pushed to magic school with high expectations from her family​.

Raven knew she wouldn't live up to those expectations, but she did want to be a great witch, greater than her parents​​​​​​. Just like her father Raven showed talent in the similar ways, she was one of top students in charm classes at least at beginning years, she joined quidditch with full ambition to win, so her mother could brag at witch social gatherings.
