Father (Han Donghyun) was human but mother (Kim Seoyeon), however, was a demon. They were a ruthless couple, a force to be reckoned with in the law industry as they freed several meant-to-be jailed suspects. Life was great for them— they had all the wealth they need, fame as clients continuously rang them up with cases to fight for, power to intimidate anyone who dared opposed to them; but their downfall came in the form of Han Siwoo, their son.

They weren't really good parents— not even decent, you can't give them the title of 'parents' for they didn't care for Siwoo at all since his birth. He was a mistake of one passionate night some time in November and for some reason, the pair thought it'll be fun to raise a child— perhaps teach him the ropes of becoming a demon so that one day, he could help the demon race dominate the world. 

Wrong. There was no fun in bringing up a child and in the end, Siwoo's well-being was tossed to various nannies. He never really got to spend time with his parents, not even the holidays as they left him at home to travel, indulging in the riches and luxury food.

When Siwoo was big enough at the age of 4, things got worst for him. He was a fast learner and managed to speak clearly although his peers were struggling. It was something to be happy about but his parents thought otherwise, finding it a nuisance whenever he talks. They would silence him with a slap, followed by a string of profanities, then hitting him again with whatever they could find; "for good measure". It seems the only good in his existence was to serve as a punching bag for his parents. 

This carried on for years, his pleas for them to stop left unheard, his cries for someone to help him falling on deaf ears. His nannies didn't dare go against his parents and his daycare teachers refused to dial for child services in fear that the couple would get their business to close down.

Everything changed when one night, Donghyun came home drunk and started to hit Siwoo— at first with a rolled up newspaper, then a cane, and it gets more and more violent until Siwoo just snaps. The next series of events happened all too quickly; knife pierced through his father's heart, blood was gushing everywhere and soon, Donghyun was motionless on the floor. 

Panic. Siwoo was left with the weapon in hand and a sleeping demon mother who was unaware of what happened. He knew he couldn't let her know of this, so what better way to hide all of this than to kill her too? The dead don't speak, after all. She would be too powerful for Siwoo anyway, being a demon with powers and all, so the only opportunity was to send her to the afterlife while she was still in slumber. 

Seoyeon struggled of course, screaming against the pillow that he suffocated her with and when she didn't fight back anymore, he stabs her to ensure she was truly dead. 

The commotion of all the happenings was heard by his neighbour who happened to be a couple, Cho Minjae and Bae Haewon, both angels. Out of pity (they were aware of how Siwoo has been mistreated by his parents but didn't want to step in as they were afraid of exposing their angel identity to them), they took him in. 

The angels covered up the crime for him, easily buying the media's and police's silence by offering them good money. Their reason was that they didn't want Siwoo to go through even more stress and traumas as he was still young— Siwoo wasn't an idiot and this doesn't go by unnoticed by him, and he soon starts to wonder if his adoptive parents were demons. He wasn't sure how he could identify them, but surely there wasn't any good reason for them to hide the truth— he was still a murder, despite his young age. 

Siwoo is a well-known lawyer with a notorious reputation of picking his clients— you don't get to hire him, he will analyse your case and decide whether you are worth his time. Needless to say, getting him to be your lawyer came in hefty prices but his clients were always willing to spend that type of money.

It was easy climbing up the career ladder for him, after all, his birth parents were well-known amongst law firms and many wealthy clients. However, Siwoo didn't need to ride the waves of his late parents' names, having graduated top in his law school with countless of appraisals from his professors. 

Has been practicing law for two years and is working in a private firm. 

He is known as Ian instead of his given name "Siwoo" as he prefers the name he chose himself instead of the name his late parents had given him. Reminds him of them and how they had given him trauma, you see.

gmt+8 but i might be online/offline at odd timings. my activity relies heavily on my muse but my muse is very fickle so my replies might be sporadic at times. i definitely respond to sns threads faster than rping threads since those are easier to write.

semi-para, para, multi-paras. i don't think i'll ever hit novella (i don't think i've written one before honestly) but if it's a long and very detailed plot, i might be able to type that much. i mostly mirror the length of your post and i'm really not picky with length so if you write too little/much, it's alright!

mainly write friendship, casual, angst, comedy. i like slowburns and plot twists a lot! i'm down for anything with the exception of plotted romance and ; i'm more interested in how a character would be able to bring out or showcase the different sides of my oc. haven't really written gore, horror, action. 

descriptive / narrative. detailed 3rd but if you're more comfortable with writing in 1st, i would be able to accomodate. i'm a very straightforward writer so if you're looking for a rping partner who purple proses and uses poetry and the likes in every reply, i'm definitely not your go-to. simple english as well, but i do try to explain and expand so that my replies do not get too dry.

do not poke me for replies. i'm aware of what replies i owe so if i have yours on hold, it's because i'm busy or having trouble coming up with the right words. quality > quantity, i will never rush you for replies so i hope the same from my roleplaying partners too.

 

if my muse for our thread has died, i will inform you and we could decide if we could change plots or just drop the thread completely.
