With their daughter in death's bed, her parents couldn't bare to see their daugther suffer and die in front of them. So the man and his wife, travelled far and seeked the Old One. There, they offered their service in exchange for their daughter to live. The creature refused them and refrained from accepting their request, but Joohyun's mother begged that in the end a contract was striked. In exchange for their daugther's life, their family is bound to serve the vampire forever. Each year, a must be taken into the castle and serve its purpose as a prey or servant. Joohyun is spared from such fate but she has become the eyes and ears of those before her. She continued on his family's legacy and remained faithful to the creature that saved her life.
