due to his interests in them, he's also grown an admiration for welt joyce, the first herrscher himself, who was an entity born from the will of honkai that has turned his back on the beasts to protect humanity instead. although - he did not expect to inherit joyce's powers and names when the latter died protecting new york in 1955, when young joachim receives a strong herrscher power called the core of reason, effectively making him the herrscher of reason after joyce's death.
although he was terrified and hid the 'burden' at first, the will passed on by joyce was too strong in him - which in turn makes him realise of his duty to protect humanity with all his might. he soon became the sovereign of anti-entropy, an organisation much like the schiksal (led by otto apocalypse) and world serpent (led by kevin kaslana) to protect humanity from honkai corruption, only ae was strongly against human sacrifice and prefer to resolve conflicts as peacefully as possible, mostly relying on 3 fundamental forces - the possibilities of the human brain, contemporary technologies and quantum physics.
years and years later after defeating the herrscher of the void in a honkai eruption and what seemed to be an eternity of battling the honkai, welt has found the perfect apprentice to pass on his powers to. bronya zaychik, an ex student in st freya where he taught history lessons, was someone reliable enough to inherit the core of reason, thus freeing him from decades and decades of joyce's will. when the honkai is finally defeated, he retires and sets on a new journey - to enjoy life as much as possible.
although some of his herrscher powers are now gone, he still has a close connection to the core, which helped him retain most of the powers that may still deem him as one of the strongest men in the world. though, he stays humble about it and runs an animation company now where he's a storyboard artist. really, nothing can go wrong with his new lifestyle now.
welt was born in 1947, making him about 74 years old now. Using the 1st Herrscher's power has various physical consequences for his body, and using another Herrscher power does so further. but with the ae mastering the ways to clone human bodies, welt is able to store his soul into the core of reason before transferring it into a new body whenever he needs to, making him immortal.
at some point, cocolia, a commander in the ae, has cloned another welt named joffrey joyce yang (joey), which welt has taken in as his own son. joey is... deeply interested in anime due to his father's job, so much that he's now a cosplayer. and interestingly, the child happens to resemble welt joyce more than joachim himself.
welt no longer uses the name joachim due to him at first concealing his real identity to fool his enemies. the name welt was also passed down to him, and he would rather keep it out of sheer respect towards its predecessor.
as a storyboard artist, he's very invested in stories that can capture the beauty of the world compared to the many corruptions he's seen in his life.
he's learned that his superhuman strength, Super speed, flight, reality warping, and gravity manipulation, all come in handy when he's late to work.
