at nine, dorian’s world consisted of his older brother, damien, and greek sweets. he was too clumsy to hold an instrument, but he did it anyways. he found solace in music, the same way his brother did. and he thought some noise will disturb the silent home enough to make him forget they were alone. his parents were never around, and the most he had gotten of them was a photograph his brother tried to throw away a few times. it was no point fighting dorian, he was as stubborn as they came. dorian had a childish wonder damien tried to protect, damien knew he had to protect. when dorian looked out the window, he never saw the burning sun and the empty streets. his mind has always been filled with stories, stories he always shared with his brother.

“can you see the dragon?” he asked once, it was a red bird, but to him it looked like a dragon.

“wow! how cool!” his brother always entertained him, he made an effort to understand his peculiar excitements. dorian still knew how to be happy, and damien did not want to take that away.

and then the letter arrived.

damien tried to ignore it, but no matter how many times he tossed it away or tore it apart, it always came back. he was not happy to be stalked by some ‘magical school’. but when some wizards show up at your door in robes and with wands, you are compelled to believe everything. dorian was the one who opened the door, he thought he was dreaming. then he thought his brother paid some people to dress up and entertain him. then he did not think it was so funny anymore.

dorian spent two years mostly home alone. he went to muggle school, he was taken care of by an aunt who was forced to live at the evzen’s during the months the parents were not home. it was as if tartarus came to babysit him and whisper sweet deadly words into his ear (dorian has always loved greek mythology, and he insisted he called things by greek god names). dorian hated muggle school, and he was pretty certain muggles hated him too. he did not understand magic until his brother explained it during christmas, expressing his wish to take dorian there someday. dorian was not hopeful it would ever happen, he was almost certain he would be forced to go to muggle school forever.

and then his letter arrived.

hogwarts was different. they had more things, dorian had more friends, and he felt less like a freak. he found a refuge inside the huge library and spent his first three years shying away from any interaction. his brother tried to pull him in all sort of mischievous plans, but dorian has always felt more comfortable reading a book. damien was the social butterfly and dorian was just socially awkward. it was always like that, dorian noticed, yet he could not help but feel a little covered by his louder brother. dorian joined the quidditch team in hopes of making more friends and that allowed him to grow up a little.

dorian’s snarky and cunning side came out in his fourth year. he has always been competitive, but perhaps puberty made him more so. he tried to one-up his brother at everything, hence he started learning how to play several instruments all on his own (the evzen brothers have always excelled musically). dorian always had better grades, but damien hardly cared about school. damien cared about whatever damien wanted: a pretty girl or boy, an upcoming event, writing horribly unrhymed poems in letters addressed to a sweetheart or two, drinking after and in-between classes, and all the other rebel things. dorian cared about…books? art? poetry? dancing? he cared about knowledge and art and grades, but he cared about winning more. and he has always cared about damien, even when he pretended to hate him.

a slytherin at heart, they called him.

by the time dorian was in his final years at hogwarts, he was a head taller than his brother. his brother graduated, but decided to continue his study at hogwarts. he grew up handsome, albeit he has never been obsessed with his looks (he thought he looked decent, but some of his peers and crushes told him otherwise). the older the brothers got, the better they cooperated. they even wrote music together when time allowed them. dorian was finally able to spread his own wings, and whilst he still cared about his brother (and would kill or get killed for him), he had become significantly more independent. independent enough to think about a serious career (unlike his brother), and more than happy to continue his studies because he thought he found a purpose in life. at hogwarts university, dorian wishes to excel both academically and personally and he would not mind having new brains to poke around or friends to goof around with.

dorian appears to be short of a book character: tall, handsome, creative, smart and seemingly flawless. however, he is quite hard to understand at first. he seems a bit random and definitely too intimidating to approach. but dorian has a soft heart, it is one of the things that makes his brother overly protective at times. whilst being a slytherin for all the right reasons, dorian is a relatively nice and good-natured person underneath the sarcasm he definitely possesses and displays. he would not let people step on him and he could be vengeful if provoked. he could be funny, goofy, loving and charming or competitive, harsh and cut-throat honest. dorian never hesitates to speak the truth, the only lies he tells are white lies (for the sake of winning a board game, of course). dorian is certainly an introvert, he does not like talking about himself (he does not hate himself, he just finds himself too boring and average). family is everything to him, which means he cares deeply about his brother and his closest friends (he would harm anyone who harms them intentionally). dorian prefers thinking before acting, so unless he is playing a game, he rarely reacts with violence. he adores exploring and would give anything for a good adventure (he has excellent navigation skills). he is a little bit of a tsundere, his natural response to things can be blunt and a little rude (he still gets nervous around new people, but he does not show it through shyness).

dorian is a hopeless romantic, however, he does not venture in romance. he likes to go on platonic dates and he does flirt if the time is right (or when he is drunk out of his mind). mostly, he flirts without realising he is flirting (he is a bit oblivious too). he is still awkward when it comes to romantic relationships (he has only been in a few very short ones), but he is someone who puts effort. however, he likes to focus on fun, so he strays away from committing (the closer he gets to someone romantically, the more distance he will put between them). he is better when things stay casual, because he thinks romance will only interfere with his plans. however, if he does fall for someone special, he would be very loyal to them. chances are he is likely to end up with someone he is close to (if push comes to shove).

writing style:

my writing tends to range from multi-para to novella, depending on my inspiration and writing partner. I tend to mirror when possible (if I do not have a writer's block). I would be happy if you could adjust to my length (not exactly the same, but at least half of what I give you - sometimes I go overboard, so do not feel pressured, please). this is important because I need something to work with. I will never tolerate one-lined replies, and would drop any partner who gives me that. I put effort, passion, and care in all my replies, hence why they come slower sometimes.

plotting:

I like a variety of diverse themes and genres, and to be honest, I am alright with most of them (I prefer darker plots, with violence/blood/gore/psychological issues/etc. but light-hearted adventure/slice of life are also good). given the nature of this roleplay, short, friendly plots would work better! due to mental health reasons, I cannot handle angst-heavy plots. so, we need to moderate it if the plot requires some angst. I do not do , fluff, or forced romance plots (my gf dislikes it when I write with others, and honestly the genre does not intrigue me, it bores me to death - just my personal input). however, if the plot requires implied , or develops into some sort of romantic connection it is alright! canons have to be discussed beforehand!

anything regarding ual abuse or non-consensual ual activity; suicide; depression; and self-harm. if our plot or your storyline involves any of these, it is alright if you mention them, just do not go into details please. I can assure you I treat all triggering topics as sensitively as possible (and I always mark them). I will ask you your triggers before plotting (if you do not have them listed), and if you are underage, I will not have extremely violent, or triggering plots with you.
