✩ early life 
  » hyoseop was born on april 17, 1995 in seoul, south korea. when he was seven years old, his family emigrated to toronto, canda.
  » by the time he turned 17, he returned back to south korea while his family remained in canada. he later attended and graduated from kookmin university, in the department of international business.

✩ beginning of career 
  » after moving back to south korea, hyoseop was scouted by jyp entertainment and shortly became a trainee for three years. he was given an opportunity to debut as a member of the k-pop boy band, got7. however, he turned down the offer to pursue other endeavors. 
  » after leaving jyp, he joined an actor agency starhaus entertainment, where he debuted as the maknae of an idol-actor group called one o one in 2015.

 ✩ rise of career
 » in 2017, he began gaining attention for his acting in his first leading roles in queen of the ring and my father is strange. 
  » later in the same year, he acted in the drama top management and in 2019, he played in a drama abyss. 
  » in 2020, he starred in the second season of the hit medical drama dr. romantic, playing as a surgeon seo-woojin.
 » in 2021, he starred in a historical-fantasy drama lovers of the red sky, playing as a blind astrologer who can read the stars named ha ram.
