kim taehyung wasn’t always evil. no.. oh no, no, no. not at all. when he was little he was actually very kind. a “social butterfly” as some may say. always helping people in need or volunteering whenever. people called him a little hero with how sweet and helpful he was to everyone. man, he was such a different person before. before the accident, the lies, the tests, everything. it was such a peaceful time for him.
but god.. how old was he when the accident happened? it hurts him to even remember. probably seven.. or was he nine? he was only a kid. a kid who had to witness the sight of his dead parents underneath a destroyed building he once called his home. his mother’s detached arm laying in front of him from trying to pull him back to safety. their screams of his name a constant playback, a ringing that won’t stop, in his ears.
but it was an accident. yes.. that’s right.. an accident. or at least that’s what he likes to tell himself.
he only wanted to help. he wanted to be brave. wanted to protect the ones he loved. wanted to be the hero that everyone called him. he wanted to stop the scary monster that was attacking everyone. but his efforts did nothing. it only got the people he cared about killed.
and the universe knew this and still didn’t care. didn’t care when he was taken in by some strangers who were up to no good. strangers who hid behind calling themselves an organization to help the unfortunate like taehyung. who conducted weird tests on him to turn taehyung into something he wasn't. where he was just a little boy helping his parents around the house to a teen who now had to help carry out crimes under this so called "organization".
and after years of being with them. he got used to it. being used as a guinea pig and all. having to carry out more missions for whatever these wannabe criminals had in store whether it was robbing a bank, stealing a priceless artifact, or even murder. he was there for it. heck, after awhile, it even seemed as if he belonged there. their constant lies starting to ingrain themselves into his head, sounding convincing after awhile. he truly believed he was making the world better.
but sometimes, late at nights, when he can’t sleep and the silence is too loud for him, the past creeps it’s way in. tormenting and reminding him of who he really is. what he was forcefully turned into. how these people are not his friends. not his family. not people he should depend on.
and he knows it’s a problem. knows he should probably get it checked out or something. but the world is unforgiving and has done nothing to help taehyung when he needed it. so, at age twenty-two, he has learned to ignore it. to bottle it up and let it fester. and sometimes it gets too much. the bottle not big enough to contain all of his problems and spilling over. and it causes taehyung to lash out, doing anything to make it go away. making him do things he didn't wish for. making him believe things that are never true.
and when he looks down at his blood covered hands after calming down, the only thing he can tell himself is that it's an accident. yes.. that's right.. an accident.
PERSONALITY :
if you took one look at taehyung you wouldn't think of him as anything but a nice person. a boxy smile and cheery laugh being seen whenever he talks to people but that's just how he is! a careefree guy who can easily make friends with anyone. and it's probably why so many people at "work" hate him. how he sometimes messes up missions by doing whatever he wants. by how impulsive he is. but they can't let him go. not with the power he has being too beneficial for them to give up on.
sometimes, though, it slips. when you can see how he actually is just a kid at heart. how vulnerable and scared he is. how he tries to make himself seem tough when he's really not. how paranoid and erratic he gets sometimes. yet it's only a fleeting moment until he's back to his goofy smile and nonchalant posture.
due to his traumatic past he suffers from schizophrenia and depression with auditory and visual hallucinations haunting him from time to time of his past victims, family, and whatnot making him a danger to be around.
POWER :
kim taehyung has the ability to replicate the power of his opponent/enemy. he also has reflexes at perfect condition for him to be able to respond to fast paced combat. the only faults in both of them is that taehyung can only replicate another's powers if he is able to get any sort of contact on the individual. even though he may have possession of the power it unfortunately isn't permanent and he's only allowed to have it for five minutes before he has to gain contact again to get it back.
taehyung's reflexes are handy but only if he's able to see them. blind spots and surprise attacks from the back are a danger to him if he isn't able to see it in time. he is also still human which means he'll end up becoming slow and exhausted after awhile in combat.

congratulations on capturing taehyung, hero! you were able to get him while he was out carrying a mission. a bit of an oopsie on his part. now, all you need is to make him talk. explain what his group was doing so you could stop it once and for all. and, well, yeah he's talking but it's not the information you need and he just won't stop! but you know you can get it out of him somehow. at this point, you're wondering if he's stuck with you or.. if you're stuck with him..

taehyung likes to believe he works for no one even if he's being used for his "organization". so of course he's a bit grumpy when tasked to work with you to retrieve an important item needed for whatever wacky woohoo weapon being created. and you know it's not going to be an easy ride when he aims a big, bright smile at you.

he's pretty sure no one ever thought that a hero and a villain would be working together but here you both are! see, there's kind of a big threat going on that affects you both (can be discussed) and it requires help from just about anybody.
