background the descendant of the famous queen kaelys blackfyre who long ago abolished the persecution of supernatural beings in the kingdom of myrador, the blackfyre family legend held a heavy weight to carry on one's shoulders. however, all that weight and responsibility was immediately put on raydan blackfyre's older sister, zeena blackfyre, as the firstborn among them and destined by their family to one day become queen of myrador. while she was given the utmost attention and care, raydan was pushed to the sidelines and left to his own devices as he watched his sister being fawned over all their life. their family simply threw money or material things his way to keep the boy occupied as zeena rose through the ranks of myradorian royal court. with the influence of his family, he was voted into court as prince at age 17, yet the title was hardly a surrogate for so many years of neglect. how could he bring himself to care for an entire kingdom when all he ever wanted was the love and confidence of his own flesh and blood? if being a good obedient son was to be underappreciated, then perhaps becoming a mischievious troublemaker would earn him the attention he so desperately yearned for. what began as simple pickpocketing or snatching food from the castle kitchens soon downspiraled into a secret life of crime. the sacred prince who could do no harm in the eyes of the public was spending every waking moment dreaming of his next big adventure and every single night sneaking off into the kingdom with his merry band of bandits he'd grown fond of over his years of sleuthing for thrills. although he had found some comfort in his questionable friends and long forbidden nights, luck ran out and soon enough he was caught red handed in the act of his crimes. the myradorian royal court voted him out of court, stripped him of his princely title, and exiled him to never again return to myrador. after his banishment and subsequent disownment from the blackfyre family, raydan took to the sea and never looked back. ever since he has roamed between the three remaining kingdoms as a pirate and conman, becoming the notorious prince of thieves.
