dia was born in the citadel of szeru, the part of aeris that housed regular civilians such as herself and her parents. believed to be protected under the blessings of szeru lykel, her parents felt safe, til they were flanked by rogue hunters with their sharp blades, trespassing the barriers of the fortress, under baseless suspicion of them hoarding ancient magical texts. the kingdom still upheld its reputation for its benevolence to non-humans and their items, the intrusion swept under the rug. their loss ed her into early adulthood, rendering her more cold, with a rather adventurous streak. if the kingdom didn’t care for her, why should she care for them? as she delved further into the outskirts of the kingdoms, she succumbed to thievery, with the realization she can’t survive being penniless. later on, she craved for to see more of the world, which she wouldn’t do without overthrowing the captain of a ship sitting in the beleze-morté pass, and of course defeating “obstacles” in her way. after much persuasion from the privateer, she spared his life, convinced by his promises of introducing her to the world of magic, its existence regarded with dismissal, in order to aid her in being a more competent captain. dia gained greater control of the seas, exploring new paths between the different continents.
