How would you live life if you were destined to destroy an entire realm? That your soul existence was to burn everything living and breathing into nothing but ash? A Dragon, born from a family that was sworn to have had been extinct, but here came one dragon egg that showed the impossible. From the moment he was hatched, the goddess of their realm came down to tell those of importance the purpose of Arkaine's birth. To destroy. No god or one of high power were to interject or disturb. The people had gotten word, and were afraid of this dragon child. Arkaine, barely out of his egg, was already a target of assassination. There were many attempts, but all failed. So, one day, a witch with empathy for this baby dragon, took him and sent him to another realm with her on her side. No one from the past realm knows what happened to Arkaine, but now live in "peace" knowing that their inevitable doom has disappeared in thin air. Arkaine- now named Markus, was raised by two women. A witch and a fire elemental. They raised Markus as an elemental, never telling him about his past or where he is from as the witch had placed a powerful spell on the boy to hide away his true being. His true power.

Markus now lives as a black market dealer. Well, in truth, a hit man of sorts. He collects debts in bodies and attends college when he can like a "normal" creature. But, as the time goes, this creatures sanity weakens. Tread lightly, or you might be the one getting burned.

Markus is a wallflower. He prefers to be in the shadows, not to be the center of attention, but enjoys hobbies that might gain it. Like, music. Which is why he does so on his own time and in the protectiveness of his own privacy. Truly, he is a golden soul. A good man, selfless. When Markus had gotten older, he started to get a little... more unhinged in his mind. He snaps easily, blows a fuse too fast for his own good and he tries to combat that with daily meditation. It helps, but there's this insatiable fire resting inside of him that just burns and burns as the minutes pass. Markus takes his unhinged nature out on the killings for his job, doing whatever he wants, just as long as the certain organs in need are intact.

But one day, he will break, and he will know the true meaning of his life. Will he finally lose his sanity? Or will he try to continue to redirect his set destiny from birth?

Markus is having one of the worst breakdowns of his life. it just randomly happened and it feels like his veins are being singed in a fire that will never go out. you are passing by the forest he goes to have his breakdowns and hear distant screams of horror and agony. you're curious and follow and what you see has fear dripping down your insides like cold mercury. you see markus, in the middle of the field, grabbing at his head and suddenly... a fire of a dragon unleashes from his mouth. you have never seen anything like it. really, though dragons are nearly a [real] myth in this world, this is the closest thing that you will ever see. but in the middle of your day dreaming, the fall of markus' body rips you away from it. he is out cold, breathing ridged and he is over heating. so, you decide to take him in and take care of him until he is fully conscious. when markus wakes up, how will he react?
