Origins of the Dream Dragon

The day the Lord of Dreams lost his Kingdom birth, his worst nightmare. Chris Roma, the former King of Dragons, washed up on the shores of the waking world of Heleo's Forgotten Island after missing for 500 years. He was held captive by five generations of witches and warlocks. They sought to capture his sibling Death in hopes of being granted the gift of immortality. Dream withheld the news of Death's previous host's recent passing to secrecy from the mortals. For Death's soul had not yet been delivered to its newest vessel reincarnate. Disappointed, the Mages saw an opportunity for favorable profit for their Kingdom. They presented him as a gift to the former grand Monarch and the royal family in the waking of the human realm. He was stripped of his Triton of Visions and his Coral ring of Memories. Displayed like a trophy, human presented him as proof of their conquest over one of the endless as a warning to other Kingdoms. In his weakened state, they forcibly extracted dreams into the waking world, believing they would grant the Royal Family fortune, prosperity, and wealth. Arrogance clouded their judgment and ignorance of the self-harm they would soon inflict lingered around the corner. Blissfully they were unaware that they relinquished nightmares to Heleo as well.

His name fell into darkness and became lost as time passed. The Dream lord become no more mere myth to them or, for some, a threat embedded in a child's wise tale. Everyone mortal knows you better behave on go to bed on time, or the Dragon of Dreams with get ya! Enclosed in a crystal dome sealed with ancient voodoo, black magic incantations and precautioned alchemy sigils, he stayed a silent prisioner for centuries. The lord of Dreams faded into oblivion out of the public eye presiding to live deep within the castle's cellar. He supervised by guards surveillance 24hrs a day, seven days a week, 365 a year.

Through dreaming, he was imprisoned only to have a rogue nightmare, ironically being his saving grace to freedom. A natural disaster of his creations in the dreaming escaped causing a violent storm to flood the kingdom. Chris attempted several times to warn the Monarch to evacuate their people, but was meet with pompous refusal. In the coming days nearly everyone in the Kingdom died from the storm. His prison shattered, freeing him from the supernatural chains that tethered him to this world. He returned to his realm of dreaming only to discover a broken world. His staff vanished as a result of the threads of memories were erased when his ring was confiscated. It had been lost at sea traded by an Airship pirate captian from the Desert ruins. It is believed to be in the hidden depths of the Kingdom of Mer-folk. The Dragon's power diminished in half with the lost of his Triton of Vision stolen and sold to a Demon in the underworld. Returning to his post of Dragon King only to find his Den defiled and his loyal subjects abandoned their homes, furthermore a new King sits on his throne with a Vampire Queen at his side.

The Lord of Dreams now tries to pick up the pieces of his life with no assistance and limited power. His siblings were nowhere to be found, and no word on the results of his mission prior to his capture. With no followers, no control over his creations, and no relics to aid him, he now seeks out the only person he trusts to help put the puzzle together, his sister's Death. The last time he saw her was he was interrupted delivering her soul to her next vessel in the Desert Wolf realm of the waking on the Planet Heleo.
