His mother, Terakubo Rieka, is one of Japan's most famous actress. his love of acting came from her as he spent a lot of time on sets with her.

His dad is one of the richest men in Japan, owning several businesses which include pharmaceuticals, construction and entertainment.

Hyoga speaks fast while he is talking in Japanese and in contrast when speaking in Korean where he speaks a lot slower. When he is excited, he speaks at least 10× faster while speaking in Japanese and 5× slower in Korean

He is a vegan and has been since he was around 10 years old. He also has an allergy to shrimp, ginger, basil and pears.

He is a buddist.

He had started his journey into mainstream media as a child actor. Hyoga didn't have an interest to become an idol at all as he felt comfortable as an actor. That had changed when he was scouted into a company near his seventh birthday, having him train for three years for the debut. along with six other boys, Hyoga would go on and make his debut in a group called Lucky Candy as a first generation member. It was a slow start for the group as they were a new group under a very small company but that didn't stop them from doing what they loved. Hyoga continued to act, which brought in a lot fans to Lucky Candy. For the next eight years, Hyoga spent it with his group before he had graduated and decided to take a hiatus by moving to Seoul with his younger sister and enrolling himself into SNU. For next three years, he spent it studing for classes, taking care of his sisters and working as at a well known dance studio to earn money he didn't really need.

He initally never planned on returning to the idol life but that changed after a talent scout visited the studio and asked him if he had any interest in joining Lotus Entertainment. Hyoga wasn't at the time as he just wanted to focus on university and his younger sister but he did think about it. Weeks had gone by and he had forgotten of the offer that was given to him until his younger sister, Junko, had found the business card that he took a month before.
