Background

Myungsoo and his family fall from grace when his father backed the wrong prince during the Great War. They were thrown off their aristocratic ranks and the men executed leaving their wives widowed and children subjected to poverty. Grief-stricken and without a penny on their name, Myungsoo’s mother gave her children up for adoption hoping to spare them from starvation.

He was twelve when Myungsoo was adopted by an old couple who he thought has his best interest at heart. Later, he finds himself together with other fostered children serving as a money-making machine for the couple. Beaten up, starved, and treated worse than a slave, Myungsoo grew in a world of hatred, greed and without kindness. He was quick to find ways to make quick money from begging on the streets to stealing. He had experienced nothing but pain and misery, so much in fact that he grew to love it, he needed it, and he loathed it.

Once he became an adult, he tried to run away only to be hunted by the authorities for a crime he did not commit. As darkness engulfs the sky, Myungsoo’s world is coming to an end. One night during the manhunt, Myungsoo ran into the woods not thinking for a minute what lies behind the shadows. Wounded with an arrow sticking out of his stomach, his life is hanging by a thread. He thought he’ll die there or worse be captured. He prayed for his life, promising the heavens he'll do better as long as the gods help him escape his situation. It wasn’t a god who saved him. A mad man appeared and feasts upon the flesh and blood of those within arm’s reach. The man turned to him, eyes bloodshot and teeth sticking out like the monster of the old. He begged promising to do anything if the man spare his life. Myungsoo was so sure he found his executioner, but he wasn’t completely wrong.

He woke up burning, thirsty but tied in bed. The last thing he remember is the sharp incisors digging into his skin and pain shooting up his body before meeting the dark. A different man with his wife introduced themselves as the Choi, a clan of high status and took him in. Nothing made sense at first, but they offered him a bowl of blood. He was disgusted at the thought of blood, but it is enticing. He drunk it but it wasn’t enough. He craves for more. Soon, he realised that he is no longer wanted by the authorities which was good, but he is no longer a human. He asked for the man who saved him to answer to this atrocity. But the couple spoke of their son’s passing and decided to took care of Myungsoo. The woman informed him that his foster parents give up their right to the couple. They offered him a home, money, and a title. Confused and without no other option, he took the offer. Years passed the ‘family’ continues train him in their ways and gives him the family he wants.

Myungsoo in his current state is scruffy and unruly new vampire. He gets in trouble for feeding whomever he wants but gets away with it because of the clan's strong connection with the authorities.

A student at Deus Draco Academy, he is studying herbalism aiming to be a physician, following his 'big brother's foot steps'. He is also forced to train in the army aiming to solidify his position and bring back honour to the Choi's name.
