Read Before You Approach Me

✶ FOR PLOTTING. I prefer plotting over winging. It doesn't need to be indepth(but I love that), I just really struggle with not having a 'goal' to work towards or some sort of history to build upon.

I adore 'mini-threads' that consist of a maximum of 10-15 short posts each for character building, story engagement, etc. I think they really help make a roleplay feel alive so don't be surprised if I come to you asking if I can help develop your character or vice versa. These can be meet-cutes/uglies between strangers that end up being a philosophical conversation, maybe a fight over a seat on the bus/train, etc etc.

We can always pause or drop a thread if either of us need too. I will never be upset if we do this, because I know life happens. Do what you gotta do, I'll do what I gotta do.

I'm also very accepting of constructive feedback and am happy to revise any replies I put out. If you'd like me to include a certain action, spoken conversation, etc., just let me know and I'll work it in somehow!

✶ TIME ZONE & PACE. Timezone is GMT+8 and I work full time; a general rule of thumb is that I'm one day ahead of northern-hemisphere people, give or take a few hours depending on your location.

THE STORY

CHAPTER I

This paragraph will briefly go over his childhood as not much really needs to be said. It wasn’t a happy childhood for him, he grew up in a relatively poor area of Busan(I know his hometown is filled out but I can’t update it at the moment), to parents who struggled to make ends meet and were subject to various life-destroying vices. His father was a gambling addict who often spent all their money on horse races and illegal rooster fights, his mother would squirrel away whatever she could to fund a lifestyle she couldn’t afford. Bills, food shopping and chores were left to Jungkook pretty much from the day he was able to take them on. When he was ___ years old(connection pending), his little sibling would be born and they became the light of Jungkook’s life. He wasn’t a very good son but he could be the best big brother. He gave his sibling everything he could, becoming their de-facto parent.

Moving into teenage years, Jungkook had never really applied himself but with sibling to think about, he knew that he had to become important and wealthy enough to get the two out of their parents house as soon as possible. The best way he figured this would happen would be to become something like a doctor, because although he hated all things blood and gore related from years of trauma, he knew that doctors made excellent money. He don’t go for a career like law or banking as he had been in the company of seedy lawyers/loan sharks in the past, and believed all in that career industry to be like that too.

CHAPTER II

Moving onto his adult life, Jungkook went though all of high school without presenting; it wasn’t uncommon to be a late bloomer and he always assumed he’d present as a beta, although he and his friends had bets on all three subgenders. He graduated top of his year level(maybe in his school district, idk yet) and was accepted into SNU for their medicine program. He was ecstatic that his hard work paid off(although he still hated medicine) but was worried about that fact that he’d need to move to Seoul- because he wouldn’t be able to take his sibling with him. They assured him that it would be fine, all he needed to do was get through to his residency years- where he would start earning money while studying and they could move in with him to finish their schooling in Seoul. Jungkook accepted, and moved to Seoul to start his new life.

Things were pretty great in the beginning. Jungkook established himself as an incredibly popular young man who studied hard and partied even harder. He was always there to lend a hand with a classmate struggling with theory, or had a shoulder for a complete stranger to cry on if they failed an exam. He was so well-liked that when he decided to host an absolute rager to celebrate his 20th birthday, everybody in his year said they’d come. It was an amazing party, Jungkook had thrown some really excellent parties in the past but this- this took the cake. It was the party that people would still continue to talk about, long after Jungkook was supposed to have graduated. ‘Was’ being the keyword as after this party, Jungkook dropped out of university and was never seen or heard from by his classmates again.

What happened was that Jungkook finally presented as an Omega during his party; and maybe it was a mix of his presentation being late, everybody being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, maybe cause he was a little hirnt after dancing a gorgeous alpha-beta pair, but his pheromones were crazy strong. To make a long story short, Jungkook was taken to his room by a few alpha friends under the pretense of getting him to bed safely and well, I’m sure you can infer what happened next. Jungkook became cohesive enough to realise what was happened midway through and he snapped; he became feral. and that was when an Amarok was born through his death.

 

Part II

CHAPTER I

Too wrap things up(and as I’m typing this, I’ve just realised that this is the plot of Promising Young Woman omg. Excellent movie but whoops, I didn’t mean to copy. I’ll leave it for now but just know that this medical school part was- unintentionally- directly inspired by PYW.), Jungkook was taken taken away to a facility for feral wolves where he almost didn’t make it out alive. When he did, he came back to a board of university officials, parents of his attackers and doctors that denied anything had happened to him, that he had consented to everything and attacked innocent students because he couldn’t handle his ‘omega’. It was very much a victim blaming situation, and Jungkook was unable to ask for a kit to be done, all evidence destroyed when he was locked away..

Jungkook left SNU after that and uh yeah, here we are. He never really processed what happened him or was given the opportunity to heal, so now he just lives life day by day, doing whatever he wants because if others can- why can’t he? Just because he’s an omega? Nah, that. He stopped contacting his sibling out of shame although still sends them money to help support. At this point, it’s been too long and he feels ashamed for having abandoned them back in Busan. One day he hopes to reunite with them but doesn’t have much hope.
