Chapter one: The way she lived (Her human years)

Moon Byulyi used to be a hopeless romantic. She used to dream about the perfect marriage and the perfect family. Falling in love came easy, but finding someone who shared the same dreams of an idyllic lifestyle proved to be much harder. That is until she met him unexpectedly during a night out with her friends. He was the perfect fit. Wanted the same things in life as she did. It was what he’d told her and she fell in love with him. Hard.

It did not take long for them to start a relationship and they moved in together, now sharing a small house in an offside neighborhood with a big flowerfield next to the backyard. Byulyi found it to be her favorite place to be. She and her fiance started planning a future together and life seemed to turn out pretty good for her. At least for a while. Their relationship showed to be fragile when Byulyi started to feel like something sinister was hiding outside their home the darkest of hours and she began to feel like she was being followed during their evening walks. She often expressed her concerns to her fiance. He kept telling her that she would be okay and that the darkness was probably just making her uneasy. The small community in the outskirts of a bigger town didn’t have that many weirdos after all. While the changes were subtle, Byulyi could tell that the longer they had spent together, the more distressed he seemed about her worries.

The mental torture kept going for months. She kept seeing the same figure in the shadows and eventually she stopped going out at all after dusk. Their home became her prison despite her fiance’s best effort to make her go outside. It seemed like an attempt to support her at first, but with a second glance she saw the kitchen knife he held in his hand. He looked distressed, like he was about to crumble in any moment as he stood leaning against the doorframe.

Chapter two: The way she died  (How she became a vampire)

“We need to go outside, now! He will kill us both otherwise!” When Byulyi didn’t make an effort to move, her fiance ran up to her and grabbed her wrist, trying to urge her to follow. She fought him, screamed at him to let her go, but to no avail. He had become mad, she thought. They kept struggling against each other until he slipped, the knife plunging into her side. She cried out in pain and he let go equally as shocked. Byulyi ran as quickly as her wounded self could muster and left their home behind her, hearing the desperate voice of her fiance calling for her. Shortly after, a man’s scream echoed through the night and then everything became silent again. She could only assume whose voice that had been.

Wounded and scared, Byulyi kept going without any goal in mind, but with the weakened state she eventually found herself unable to move. The field would become her deathbed she thought as she slumped over to the side, now too tired to walk any further. That’s when the figure showed up again, this time up close. In a moment of pure naivety the woman prayed for him to be her guardian angel. And when he offered to take away her pain, how could she say no? Byulyi felt the man’s lips against her neck before a new form of pain was introduced. This pain was sharp and quick as it only lasted for a brief moment. Then everything faded into black.

Moon Byulyi does still remember the events that lead to her death even decades later and she never stopped being resentful toward the people that never listened to her fears of what would be lurking in the shadows. It was years later she started to understand that the stranger who had “saved her” that night had in fact been toying with her for months. He had wanted to see her suffer and to see her turn against the ones she once loved before he’d planned to kill her. Out of maybe spite or remorse, he had a change of heart and turned her into the bloodthirsty monster she is today.

Chapter three: The Moonstar (Personality)

Byulyi does have a taste for cat-and-mouse games or games where she needs to cheat, lie or charm her way into her victims' hearts. She likes the pursuit more than the kill. Her thirst for blood is probably her biggest weakness as she has never put much effort into learning how to control it. As much as the vampire loves to play games, she hates to lose and will do anything within her power to always skew the odds in her favor.
