background: gyubin is a classic case of a visual being street-casted, he's not the most talented amongst his group and never really had any dreams of becoming an idol prior to his casting. he was initially casted as an actor/model, but considering how mediocre his skills were, the company put him through intensive training to at least improve his rapping skills.

gyubin is a bit of a "handful" for the company to handle, he's not problematic (typically.) per se but he's known to be quite entitled or impatient, often time described as childish but his peers, despite the years of experience he has under his belt. in an attempt to keep the artist under control, his on-screen persona was carefully crafted; a cold yet secretly warm member, the one who doesn't talk much, 'mysterious' as his fans would call him. but oh, they couldn't have been more wrong about him.
