Jeff never really believed in the paranormal. Everything from the loch ness monster to bigfoot, ghosts, demons, they were all hoaxes. He became a paranormal investigator to prove that these things aren't real. He even tempts ghosts and demons, telling them to come push him, to hurt him, to try to kill him, just to prove they aren't real. He decided to come to Havenwood to prove the rumors about this place is false.
