despite coming from humble beginnings in busan, he was mostly raised in the united states. daniel received love often from his parents, being the only son and child of a car shop mechanic and a homemaker. spoiled by the affection of his parents, he gets teased for being a “mama’s boy” on occasion, and also develops an easily bruised ego. as someone who is naturally inclined to cooking however, daniel hit the jackpot as he found his footing in the culinary industry. working as a sous-chef at a three star michelin restaurant , he suddenly decided to work as a chef at the white lotus.
